Thanks Warren, it does look pretty cool. I agree that it does seem pretty complex.

A good demonstration of the Electrom's handling. I had a chance to ride the Seawall on a quite day and a friend was there to shoot some video. Tzl0VeCg2zo

Welding pannier rack to frame with mid drive motor inatalled on it

I've had great success bonding aluminum and dissimilar metals using carbon fiber and kevlar strands dipped in epoxy. You just mix up some slow-set epoxy, dip you strands and use them to wrap your parts. Carbon Fibre does not want to be in direct contact with Aluminum so If you are using...

Do you use an fairing or partial fairing on your ebike, emoped or BSM?

Sadly it would appear that you are right. It's too bad though, my main argument is not that they are wrong about recumbents, but that they should re-asses the design possibilities when electric assist is incorporated.

Again, old paradigms. The Electrom is neither a foot off the ground or 3-4 feet off the ground. The seat is at 19 inches (just an inch higher than your average chair seat) Yes, your feet are in front of you, but it's comfortable. The Electrom is also quite good in narrow spots and off road...

Do you use an fairing or partial fairing on your ebike, emoped or BSM?

You're still clinging to old paradigms. An electric recumbent is not a FF motorbike. An Electric recumbent bicycle provides exercise and you never get stuck in traffic because of a bicycle's lane-filtering privileges. As I said before, recumbent designs of the past have allowed for a lot of...

Do you use an fairing or partial fairing on your ebike, emoped or BSM?

Chalo, I'd like to know. What was it? did some recumbent rider run over your puppy as a child? My "special technique" is nothing new, just simple physics. The 1% of the time that I need fast handling I lift my back away from the seat, and the rest of the time I'm far more comfortable than I...

Do you use an fairing or partial fairing on your ebike, emoped or BSM?

There is a lot of back and forth going on here, and as someone who has been riding a semi-faired electric recumbent for over ten years I have some specific knowledge. A fairing is about much more than just aerodynamics, it can provide weather protection, crash protection, and offers a handy...

Don you bring up an interesting point about Fairings, Recumbents and Under Seat Steering. It is true that USS does not provide a convenient place to mount a simple Poly carbonate fairing, but for those willing to engineer a tilt-away fairing mounting solution, USS does make getting on and off...

Do you use an fairing or partial fairing on your ebike, emoped or BSM?

Chalo you keep pushing these old notions about recumbents. It would be akin to saying that ebikes are heavy, slow, short distance vehicles because of the lead-acid batteries: that might have been true 20 years ago but things have changed. It's time for you to find a new horse to flog. Many...

thanks, yes it's coming along nicely.

Respectfully I disagree. A properly designed fairing can fit through some very tight spots. 34FpjR_KEik

Chalo, I think you missed the point. With the addition of electric assist, fairings need not be fragile, ugly or noisy. The extra power means that the fairing can be built with enough layers of material to make them strong and quiet. The bodywork on the Electrom is made from multiple layers of...
