10 pin Battery Connectors for Vyaire Battery Packs

Thanks for your prompt and detailed replies. “If by "gap" you mean some contacts that don't measure anything to other contacts, that could mean they aren't internally connected, or have circuitry blocking your measurements, etc.” Yes, that is what I mean. Except that I don’t get a reading...

10 pin Battery Connectors for Vyaire Battery Packs

OK, found some time to mess with these batteries again. There is something about the connectors I do not understand. I only get continuity between the first four connectors from the left, negative side and the first four connectors on the right side, but I cannot jump the gap between the two...

10 pin Battery Connectors for Vyaire Battery Packs

I tried to read the voltage but could not make contact with my probes to the connector. Tried an intermediary wire as well with no luck. These were sold as unused battery packs. Hopefully they have not been sitting so long as to be dead.

10 pin Battery Connectors for Vyaire Battery Packs

Thanks, that was very helpful, even though much of it I did not understand. I’m an electrical neophyte, but did manage to build a pressure contact battery pack by following the examples on this site. I will post it up sometime. Trying to hook these battery packs up in series looks like it may be...

10 pin Battery Connectors for Vyaire Battery Packs

I bought these packs off EBay with the intention of removing the batteries, but now I am wondering if I might hook them in series to create a 65V 8.7AH battery pack in the configuration shown in the picture. Does anyone know where I can find connectors that would work for that purpose?

    Weatherproofing a geared hub motor

Sorry I am so slow to respond. I am ducking in and out today. My bike will be in the tropics and I will be using it on a beach road. I have read that that is a recipe for corrosion on the motor as water inevitably enters the hub as it expands when used and then sucks in moisture as it cools...

    Weatherproofing a geared hub motor

Thanks, Tomjasz, I do have Boeshield, which I use on those same saltwater fly reels. Would the ACF50 be redundant? The insulating varnish looks like another level of protection, preventing any contact of saltwater with the metal.

    Weatherproofing a geared hub motor

I will be living near the ocean soon and I would like to safeguard against salt corrosion. I have a 250 watt Bafang geared hub motor and took it apart and immersed it in Spraytech Pump Saver Plus. I have used this on fly reels and hooks and it does a good job on corrosion prevention from salt...
