    voilamart/otherbrands wheel rim

yes, sir. I did. As I explained above I couldn't afford experimentation with the sole transportation that help me put food on the table. I totally trust everybody's advice and will use it for the second (hopefully folding) built that will add redundancy and flexibility. There complicated math...

power loss due to dirty connectors! anyone?

First, this is an amazing place for understanding throttle controllers: Guide to Hall Sensor Throttle operation, testing, and modification. - Electricbike.com Ebike Forum I disconnected and inspected all the controller connectors and found out that the touching metal of those connectors...

power loss due to dirty connectors! anyone?

And I'm sorry for my sarcasm again. I tried to take pictures of the soldering of the thick wires to the connectors but I couldn't find one that I did not cover with a double layer of heat shrink but trust me I have been soldering since I was 8 (a Weller was my dad's birthday surprise to me) and...

power loss due to dirty connectors! anyone?

I understand that there are ways to save a penny, like making the metal conductor from a cheap metal that cost less and cover it with some shiny paint, but for this application, I very much doubt that it's worth it. We're talking about the very simple regular XT90's here, not the fancy/special...

power loss due to dirty connectors! anyone?

WOW! That's a breakthrough! That proves, for the first time in history, that there are two kinds of chinese, good chinese and bad chinese. Unfortunately, the bad ones never get rich by saving some plastic here and there because the new plastic saving molds probably cost more than what there...

power loss due to dirty connectors! anyone?

Smart thinking Chalo, as always. It is a very valid probability that didn't cross my mind, even though I find it hard to link it to the grinding that I felt. I'll go check it out and take pictures right away. For a serious test, I'd have to hookup two little digital voltmeter (the ones they use...

power loss due to dirty connectors! anyone?

I agree with both of you and I did the test. They are warm, but not the whole 200 watts. Thank you for making me more sensible.

power loss due to dirty connectors! anyone?

Exactly! The old corroded/dirty connectors may play a relatively small part of the whole problem. I'm trying to think about other problems.

power loss due to dirty connectors! anyone?

This is the guy who recommended the "insane recipe" and I hear everyone I respect talks about Deoxit. I used to think that they were too pricey for me but I just checked their prices now and they are not bad for what they do especially since I'm starting a very fancy job next month. What...

power loss due to dirty connectors! anyone?

I did the 40 mile round trip again yesterday, and the condition was sadly back. It's a new route to me so part of it is that there's a mile that has the most steep ascending and it occurs in the second half of the ride when the battery voltage is much lower than the initial fully charged voltage...

power loss due to dirty connectors! anyone?

sorry for the sarcasm. I hope it was taken as funny and not inappropriate. I totally agree that even though a sudden or gradual loss of power only at high speeds/power logically leads to concluding having noticeable resistance in the source-to-load path and having had the same connectors for a...

power loss due to dirty connectors! anyone?

after the cleaning and widening some of the males with a tiny flat screw driver, the power near home in a flat road jumped back to 14XX. That kind of confirm my (and the others participants in this threads) analysis. From now on, I'll work on finding a better high current connection methods...

power loss due to dirty connectors! anyone?

Hey, thank you Chalo. Did some cleaning and noticed that some of those connectors got less tight than what I remember the last time. What is happening is that I remember when I changed some wiring the last time the maximum power that I could get on uphill max speeds increased from 13XX to 14XX...

power loss due to dirty connectors! anyone?

thanks. I'll do that and use a small screw driver covered with a rough cloth. that cleans the females only. I'll start looking for a long term solution that is less than replacing all the connectors every winter and study dielectric grease
