Understanding Series amperage load across a pack.

Glad I could clear that up! As far as how the load is shared, I’ll let a dedicated battery builder answer that question. I have seen that cable length and routing can make difference but I really don’t have any experience in that department. Word to the wise- drawing max power from them will...

Understanding Series amperage load across a pack.

Divide the number of amps you want to pull by the number of parallel connections and that will tell you how many amps each cell group is going to deliver. If you have a 48v 13s10p group and try to pull 100 amps from the battery, each group of 13s cells will see 10 amps. If you have a 48v 13s5p...

Understanding Series amperage load across a pack.

Paralleling 2 48v 50ah packs would give you a 48v 100ah pack. Series of 2 48v 50ah packs would give you 96v 50ah. Both packs are the same capacity of 4,800 watt hours. Don’t rely on bms ratings to guarantee the current that a battery pack can deliver. You can put the largest 10000a bms on...

    '91 Suzuki DR 250S

You’re going to want a bigger/better controller than the em150. If your battery is 72v 100ah, you’ll be able to pull a couple hundred amps and you’re gonna need it with all that weight. Check out the ASI BAC8000 or a Kelly controller that can do 500a+.

    Vector Typhoon Frame / QS 205 / 20s15p 30Q / Nucular 24F

Got my Vector frame set up, Nucular 24F controller, and a new qs205 5T motor. This thing rips!! I also added a quick connect charger to the top of the frame.

    Temporary precharge circuit

I really appreciate all the feedback and conversation here. I'm going to take my ceramic resistor and create a bypass switch for it. Thanks to everyone who responded!

    Temporary precharge circuit

Gotcha. I measured 1000ohms resistance with a multimeter on the ceramic resistor. 72v battery divided by 1000ohms = .072amps of current. 72v X .072a = 5.182w. The resistor is rated for 10w so I think I’m good. Just nervous because I don’t like big sparks haha.

    Temporary precharge circuit

Yeah I’m familiar with them but I’m set with keeping the xt150’s. I’d rather do a proper precharge than rely on the xt90s nowadays.

    Temporary precharge circuit

Hey all, I’m having trouble connecting my antbms controlled battery to my sabvoton. If I power up the discharge mosfets and connect the battery, there is a large spark and the bms short circuit protection is triggered. If I leave the wires connected and try to power up the discharge mosfet, the...

I want a 10+KW rear-drive full suspension ebike with pedals and a top speed of 50MPH

I have been waiting for a Vector Typhoon frame to arrive in the US that I ordered in January. USPS shipping is the absolute worst.

    Mxus 3000w 5T

I used to have a mxus 3000 turbo 5t in a 26" wheel. On 72v with about 60-70a and 250pa, I could max out around 43mph on an eeb frame.

    260v Dirt Bike 2021

260V is going to be hard to achieve without salvaging some EV car tech and trying to reprogram it. You would have to be very knowledgeable about physical hardware and software design. It would be easier to stay within <100v and parallel more cell groups for higher amps.

    Vector Typhoon Frame / QS 205 / 20s15p 30Q / Nucular 24F

I got impatient waiting for the Vector frame to show up, it will probably take another 2-3 months to arrive. I ordered a black EEB clone from Amazon and it showed up in 2 days. I had to modify it so the battery would fit and the controller could rest in the bottom cover. I finished the build...

Common charge/discharge wiring w/ Sabvoton controller

Thanks for confirming, I’m familiar with the sequence of first plugging in the charger.
