You bet - back to the days of "Renaissance Bicycle Company." I used to drive Justin crazy buying armloads of Anderson connectors.
I hope to revive the pictures for my old threads. There are some interesting builds with power tool batteries and some interesting tests.
I'm hoping to get more...
CA is the Cycle Analyst from Grin's ebike.ca website. Grin would not sell statorade unless it was safe for the motor. 10 years ago I tried a few things including Fluid Film which worked pretty good. The only adverse effect I had was when transporting the bike where the fluid can leak out. I...
The X20 hub motor itself is 1.4kg. It is closer to the Bafang G370 which is 1.9kg. The X20 is through axle which is pretty cool. I saw a web site that sold the X20 for 800 US by itself. It would be interesting to adapt it to a Baserunner and CA with thermal rollback.
I also read that Mahle has...
Just posting a reply for any other fathers reading this. My son stripped the gears three times on the G310. The first was my fault having set the baserunner to supply too much power and it overheated going uphill. But then it happened again twice. I think it was from doing jumps the last two...
I did this on a Cute 100 CST and may do it on a G370 rear as soon as I can get my hands on another one. I had problems with the G370 I was working on. For the Cute 100, the wires come out the very end of the axle. For the G370, it looked like there was room where the main cable came out. I don't...
I'll post it to its own thread once I install it into a clear case and take some pictures. Its pretty simple.
Also, for those who are concerned about cutting off the throttle unexpectedly, many of these boards have an alarm buzzer.
When the temp gets above 120 or so, you can set it up to sound...
I can post the circuit but I'm not opening up the motor again until it needs servicing. If you do a thorough Google serach, you can find a few examples of other people epoxying thermosters to motor windings. I think automotive silicone would probably work too.
You need to get the wire out where...
For a hub motor you could loose power from any number of things: low batteries, loose cables, etc.
Use this technique your own discretion. I'm fine with it. I generally know when I'm pushing my small motors too hard.
Use a CA instead if you want power roll-back to prevent overheating. I don't...
I just built a little throttle cutoff harness for over-volted/watted motors that uses a mini 5v thermostat board, that cuts off the throttle when the motor internals hit 120 degrees Celsius.
LM YN Digital Thermostat Module DC 5V -10℃ to +210℃ Electronic Temperature Control Module Switch...
The YTW-06 is impressively light at about 3 lbs. How much have a beating have you subjected it to?
I use my Phaserunner Q100CST 72V LiPo combo for on-road and off-road cross-country mountain biking and as long as you don't get too carried away with over-powering it, it works fine. I had a bit...
Bear in mind there are two versions of the Q100CST out there too. The one bmsbattery was selling at first several years back was silver and weighed about 5 lbs. The newer ones I bought within the few years are black and they are about 4.5 lbs. They have slightly different hub freewheel...
The hub freewheel is built into the cap that screws onto the main body. Its built-in and I don't think its serviceable. I have yet to wear out a freewheel on any hub, electric or non, so I would not worry about it. The freewheel mechanism has a bit of engagement lag compared to a higher end...
Is that slotted anti-rotation washer a standard one made for a hub with a 12mm wide axle and a 10mm flat spot width, or is it smaller and specially made for the G310?
If its the 12mm/10mm size, I have some 1/8" titanium torque arms I bought last year from a guy in the UK that look like they'll...
Much thanks for the comments. I have not seen the hub up close, so I didn't know there was a flat on the axle for the anti-rotation washer. That does look like it would be a tough fit. I'll think about this a bit more now.
