    16T freewheel mod. Brings speed from 16mph to 20mph, lessens torque though. Much better for where I live. Only other "easy" mod is 36V if you have an 07 or earlier bike.

    I'm not saying the temp is definitely the cause just an odd coincidence that it's the first time below freezing and also that it only flickers up hill and works when spinning the wheel in air.

    Whats your top speed with 48 volts?

    41.7 @ 1500 watts(probably a tail wind when this happened) normally it's 36-38mph @ 1500 watts 3000 watts should get me to 44 or 45 but I haven't tried yet.

    Yes that's slow, I'd like my bike to average 35-40. You'll pedal yourself silly in a very short amount of time trying to keep up at 32mph (on flat) with 48T/11T gearing.

    I don't think a pedal failure or seat would be the worst thing possible as long as both don't happen at the same time. I'm going to keep this thread in mind next time I want to try 50 mph down my favorite hill

    8.4 is the max voltage because that's what the MS battery pack puts out. My cooling mods are continuous 40 degree 30-35 mph wind. Lots of people run them at 12V, my 10 is somewhat conservative.

    Does anyone get a noticable amount more of voltage sag on their battery packs. I installed mine yesterday and today was my first ride and the cycle analyst appeared to be a .1-.2V difference from what is normal on my battery.

    I used alligator clips for now in a small plastic project box. I am going to see how that holds up for now.     one of my friends swears by them and I believe they come with a very long warranty maybe even lifetime but I don't remember for sure. However the amount of light they emit is not up to par with either the spider or aurora.

    Yes it does the battery is supposed to last 50% longer on the spider with just minimally less light. Realistically how much more compact is a half an inch shorter, are you ever going to notice the difference(IN FLASHLIGHT TERMS GET YOUR MIND OUT OF THE GUTTER) Maybe i'll re-order a single spider...
