    Optibike carbon fiber R15C

Opti keeps innovating. I would love to try riding it... I really like the 5 levels of assist. I'm still waiting for a PAS option, a rear integrated tail light and a 7-8k price point.

Ideas about opening up an electric bicycle store.

OCNAMOR- Dead nuts on and a good blast of sobering reality. The market will drive it. Some stores will make it, some won't. People don't want to pay for "bicycles". If ebikes get trendy and acceptable at $2k and North, there may be some life in that business. Bike_on

Falco Hub Motor: an unbelievable experience (so far)

I expect the communication protocol to the hub may be unique. Not sure.

Drop-Bar eBikes (like a "road" bike)

EBR list road bikes, but not all have drops. https://electricbikereview.com/category/road/ I built a road bike with a Falco HX500W hub and a Gravity road bike, semi relaxed. It weighed 40lbs, was fast, 28mm tires, PAS, no speed limit.

Guinness World Record Attempt Ebike 5000 miles 30 days

Ravi, I look forward to your video post/blog. 34 days of straight riding is a feat and doing it with a PAS system is a big challenge, physically. I can't imagine how tired you can get. I saw in your blog that you took off a couple days early on. Was that for rest or other? Tough question...

Guinness World Record Attempt Ebike 5000 miles 30 days

That's a nice run, but only 4318 miles.... I guess he should have gone another 5 days... These comparisons do breakdown in many respect, but the miles are miles with the butt on the seat and electric power supplementing the effort.

The biggest problem at 25mph+ is rarely discussed resistance

I bought a nice road bike @ bikesdirect and put a Falco high speed hub on it and road for a couple years. 28mm tires. It was fast. Shifting with Ultegra components and a 50/34 front rings were fine and could maintain 25+. The issue is high speed wear on the frame/spokes/drops. I even used...

California CVC 406(b)-What constitutes a "Motorized Bicycle"

PS. The second wammy is that Cali laws will often lead other US state laws. The ebike advocated of this law want this to happen. They want established laws in NY and other difficult states. Yes, more ebikes will be sold. However, WE ALL KNOW and have experienced, that a 20-, 350W of...

California CVC 406(b)-What constitutes a "Motorized Bicycle"

This law has been hotly debated on the EBR forum. On record, I think it is more BAD than good. The law was crafted by those who stand to benefit the most, big box companies with multiple models, all mostly sub 20, low powered option. The original proposal had a class 4 category: up to 28mph...

    Maxwell EPO (Grindz, Troy Rank)

Troy, I had no doubts. Thanks for addressing the potentially fatal design risk with a solid outline of a quality design effort. Dan

    Maxwell EPO (Grindz, Troy Rank)

After 2-3 days of commuting in rainy weather, I flipped my bike upside down to change a flat. I had a pool of water drip out of the frame. (hydrofoil alum) With these batteries in the frames and cabling/wires ofter routed there too for a clean look, how will you keep the water out? It likes...

    Falco e-Motors

I switched my Falco hub from a Gravity 20 road bike, to a Trek DS 8.5. I also swapped my hub motor for a new hub. My old one busted off a flange/spoke. Here are some stats: Changed: Tires: Schwalbe Marathon Supremes, 28 x 2. Motor: Falco 500w with internal torque sensor and throttle...

Hello Ebike Enthusiast, I want to see your cool designs and share them to promote the technology and your *art*. I have received 3 OEM submittals and Troy Rank's World Record bike/specs. I would like this project to happen by Dec 2014 for a 2015 wall calendar, to look at each month and see...

    Solar Power Cruiser - Terratrike

Icerider, Very cool design and thread. Good job. You caught my eye because I was thinking about solar-charge-supplementing as a curved cover over an extracycle.?? I did an intial PV design, but I wasnt sure the interaction between the panel, upconverter and input into the battery via a...

    Falco e-Motors

The new fimrware setting gives it more response than I had before. I think you will like it. The turn off delay might be high, because the motor continues after pedalling ofr a good 1-1.5 sec. Unnerving at first. I am finding that I can ride at level 3-4 and get top speeds. I am spinning...

    Falco e-Motors

Tom, Warm weather ahead, stay patient. To be clear, the motor re-programming is different than the GUI interface. I do not believe the GUI can change the peak current or set levels. Maybe it can? I think you need Rakesh's latest firmware for the new even levels and reduced current. I have...
