    Cost of Batteries Not Dropping

I know I'm probably just being impatient - but has anyone else noticed that the cost of batteries in the last 2-3 years has stopped dropping? I've only been looking at a narrow range of battery chemistry - Lifepo4, but is doesn't seem like there new chemistry that meets the specs of LiFepo4...

    DD hub for snowboard winch?

Has anyone tried using a DD hub as a snowboard winch? I'm thinking a guy could flip a standard ebike over then mount the handle bars to the ground. Then swap out the rear wheel with a DD hub wrapped with a tow line.

US Tax Credit for +2.4 kWhr Ebikes?

I coudn't find this anywhere else on the forum, but it looks like if you load up your ebike with +2.4 kWhrs of batteries you could qualify for a 10% tax credit. The way I read it, it expires at the end of this year (2011). Scroll down to the bottom of page 2, the section "Qualified Electric...

So I opened up the controller I got from ebike.ca and soldered the BK pad to gnd. I assumed this would enable regen braking. I put the controller back together. Basically the bike wouldn't move. Then I opened up the controller de-soldered the BK pad from gnd - and the bike operated normally...
