2kw DD motor front on suspension fork?

I think I have seen a few front suspension 20" forks with steel lowers and dropouts...of course still use torque arms. If you are going to use a wider front tire be sure to check the clearance so they don't rub the fork. I personally would not go over 1000w, especially when it's your safety...

Home depot ego battery packs dropped in price. Echo also

I bought a non-functioning Ego 2.5ah on ebay, and with a "security type" torx screwdriver had it opened up in about 5 minutes. One of the 14 cells was defective (basically at 0 volts) and if any of the cells are way off balance the stock charger won't even try to charge it. Taking the single...

The easiest way to increase the amps and watts is to add more voltage from your battery if your controller can handle it.

New Build with EGO 56V Home Depot Battery - Wow

Have you ever measured the voltage of the Ego pack after you have reached the LVC of your system? It may be best only to run them down to 49V to prolong the life of the cells.

MAC motor fit to 135mm fork - centering

Great looking wheel! Be sure to check your spoke tensions every ride for the first 5 to 6 rides. With the wide rims, you can't really do much to "true" your rim, but to keep even tension on them will prolong your spokes' lives.

brake calliper rubs on hub motor

It looks like you only need about 3mm more of clearance, so if you can spread your dropouts another 3mm there should be no problem. Just put a 3mm washer between the hub axle and the dropout and add 3mm spacers between the hub and the disc.

    Walmart Booster Batteries

I bought one of these at the local wallyworld as it was considered a seasonal item and was on close-out. It has a fairly bright led flashlight built into it (0.5 watt) and if I am figuring right, it could run that on a full charge for about 5 hours. It is touted as "12,000mah max", but I have...

Frame candidate, Mongoose Terrex, hardtail 27.5 X 2.8

My local wally-world is stocking a 29" x 3.0" huffy called the "Warhawk" and it is $249. To just upgrade the tires on it may cost another $150, but that is the nature of the beast. It has the usual cheap components, but it is dual disc brakes and front suspension.

Nice Video! Do you remember what wattage the sunwin controller was listed on the auction? When you had it open, did you you happen to count the FET's that it has?

I hope you realized that I was talking about the Sunwin (silver) controller and not the black one in the earlier pictures. The silver one I found by seller hksunwin on ebay, but with the way the sellers are, this might be the same group as Hallomotor.

    Somewhere in a Brooklyn basement...

Just gear it to pedal to help the hub motor get up to about 5 to 7 mph and then only keep your feet on the pedals if you think you might want to make it look legal. Great build!

Beautiful build. Are you just going with regen for the braking on the rear? Still anxious to hear about the sound from that "sine wave" controller, thanks!

Frame candidate, Mongoose Terrex, hardtail 27.5 X 2.8

Nice value for a taller rider. The rims are steel you state and that is a bit unusual, but it may have its advantages. I would guess the total wt. is way up there, but I guess that is what makes it a good candidate for conversions. Being disc brake both front and back, you could convert it to...

Small capacity (4-5AH) high quality batteries

I have used the Kobalt 40v (37v nominal) yard tool battery (the 4 ahr version) on some small geared hub motors and have been very satisfied. It is marked 144WHrs right on the case for air travel. It is fairly easy to take the case off to connect a power output lead...I use 4mm bullets. It's...

Hallomotor hubs on ebay, August 2015

Slightly off topic, but has anyone bought a sine wave controller from them? They seem to offer them in many different power ratings from 250W to 1500W and with regeneration. On Ebay they sell them with an optional LCD panel that does some PAS and power level functions.

One motors journey... from kids 24 to Mongoose to Mundo

I have a bike that is 24" front and 20" rear and have used a reverse layback seatpost (steel BMX style) for many years and if you get the distances right it works out pretty well. You might want to try a higher power hub in a 24" wheel in the back...I don't recall if you ever reported on the...
