from push scooter to EV: advice and comments welcome!

[img]Hello, I decided to sell the scooter and all the parts. I recently bought a house and I do not have the time to finish the project. Setup drives but should be finetuned. Accelerating hard is an issue. Setup now: Sk3 6065 motor 1x 5s 8aH battery zippy 2x 2s 8aH battery zippy 1x 3s 8aH...

E-scooter: help with mounting rear wheel sproket

hi, looks nice! How are you going to install the motor? About fixing the sprocket to the wheel: I would lasercut a circular part that you can use to center your sprocket together with the center of your wheel and then work with spacers on the flat parts in the spokes of the decathlon wheel...

from push scooter to EV: advice and comments welcome!

Hi, the setup seemed to work better on 6s than 5s batteries. therefore i tried with an alien 8s esc and 8s batteries and with another gear ratio. this gave similar topspeed but much much better acceleration before loosing sync. now it only looses sync when you ask for really high accelerations...

    My Razor E100 ---> Brushless

Hi, To me its strange that you get this kind of acceleration with your current setup. I'm using a sk3 6364 213kv motor and 19/90 gear ratio and on 6s with a hk 150 esc it looses sync quite fast when i'm not gentle enough on the throttle. On 8s with an alien esc its better but still I have to...

from push scooter to EV: advice and comments welcome!

I'm driving around now with the scooter but it seems that the motor cannot deliver enough torque to accelerate. When driving at low speeds and accelerating suddenly the motor 'screeches' and does not deliver any power to the wheel anymore... I thought this would be that I'm asking to much...

10S custom skate ESC: testers wanted!

Vedder, Nice job! It is really awesome how you're making the esc, documenting everything and especially sharing everything. thank you for that. I'm really waiting for this esc to become available!

Hi, Jeah here in Belgium you need an insurance if you go faster than 12km/hr with a motor. Also your vehicle needs to have a unique chassis number etc. When you go faster than 25km/hr you need a helmet and driving license. Guess I'll be driving around illegal... Just received the bended...

Hi, I'm using a hall thumb throttle: to translate the 1-4V that come out of the hall throttle I bought an arduino nano and programmed it. This was very easy I must say. I have no experience whatsoever with programming but just opened some of the examples and adapted them to my needs. I'm...

from push scooter to EV: advice and comments welcome!

Just got some of the mechanical parts! The 90T 5m sprocket turned out quite good. Just waiting for 3 more parts to be bended and welded together. Also made a functional hall throttle to esc signal convertor with an arduino nano. Even made a calibration procedure to really use the min and max...

Hi, I haven't been able to actually mount everything yet because I'm waiting for my recently ordered solder suction tool... I'm hoping the 150A HK esc I'm using can be programmed to "listen" to the signal the servo tester will send. If not I'll maybe use an arduino nano to translate the 1-4V...

    Samsung 25R/LG 18650HE2/ Sony VTC5 high power 18650 battery

Hi, A question, to start talking back about the cells :) I would like to make a 5S5P battery pack with or the VTC5 cells or the 25R cells. If I do not want to balance charge regularly, should I go for the 25R or VTC5? I would bulk charge about 50 times and then balance them once... Please...

hi beto, I meant that I'll also use a similar thumb throttle. I'll use it together with a servo tester as described in http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=12196&p=873024&hilit=+throttle+tester+thumb+servo#p873024

I'll be using also a thumb throttle like this. Anyody an idea about the spring? I'm taking it to work and will put it under our press and just measure the spring constant myself. My guess now is that the 900lbs/inch is the spring and the red rubber part together...

from push scooter to EV: advice and comments welcome!

I just sent all my dxf's to a lasercutter. Now I'm looking for a new spring for my longer wheel -fork, and I'm lost... The old one is about 135mm long and the new about 206mm. So the spring should be about 206/135 times stronger. That is about 1.53 times. On the spring I find the text...

help needed: bulk charge 18650 5s5p pack?

I agree that lipo's need to be balanced, teslanv. I have experience with normal flat lipo packs and have seen that this cells tend to drift. For charging these I use an RC charger with a separate psu But I read that somewhere that NMC chemistry 18650 cells do not drift and do not need to be...

help needed: bulk charge 18650 5s5p pack?

Hi teslanv, Guess we were typing a reply at the same time. I know a RC charger would better and easy. But then I would have to carry around 2 separate things because there is almost allways a seperate psu needed. Also the total volume of the charger would be much bigger for the same power. The...

help needed: bulk charge 18650 5s5p pack?

Hi, So you mean that timing is not such a good idea? I understand that timing is not as exact as measuring current but because I do not have experience with these batteries I do not know or mich be that bad...this is why I started this thread of course... I decided to use 5 batteries is series...

nice, that is a quite simple way. I think I'm going to start searching for a small and easy programmable time-switch.

help needed: bulk charge 18650 5s5p pack?

Hi, Thanks for the replies :) @matt: How do you predict the time and kind of timer do you use? @999zip999: no BMS because I wanted to keep it simple. I will however make balance leads so that I can add a BMS and balance the cells if needed. But I read that the recent 18650 cells do not need...

help needed: bulk charge 18650 5s5p pack?

Nobody with answers to my questions? I found that lots of people already use this meanwell psu's: http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=42169&p=616665&hilit=meanwell+charger+ip67#p616665 Also there's this current limiter board of Fechter. very nice thing but if I understand it...

help needed: bulk charge 18650 5s5p pack?

Hello, I'm working on a project and I am going to use a 5s5p 18650 pack. Probably the samsung 25R cells... I read that I need to charge them constant current, and then constant voltage with a cutoff at 100mA. So could I use simply a cc/cv led driver psu?? I thought to use a meanwell HLG...

Hi kris, Just realized that i did not answer your post... I really want to use a belt because of the noise a chain makes. Because pulleys are not available in the size i want. I m going to try to lasercut and stack them. Yes i want to use the sony v3 batteries. Because they are safe and vcan...

Hi pouet, Your setup looks very nice. In fact when I started on mine I thought to make it quite similar, also with the motor on that place! I think the quality of your built looks good for a manually manufactured product! What kind of motor, esc and batteries are you using? What gear ratio...

Belt drive Sprockets on the Cheap!

Thanks for the quick reply bobc! I will be following your advice and started to design another pulley that I would make in Stainless steel which looks like this: Because I want to save weight the second part is only fixed to the first pulley and not to the wheel it will be driving: Then I...
