    Nuvinci developer kits for cheap

Hi, Does anyone have a copy of the software which came with the dev kit? I need to update my config tables, but I can't find the software to upload. (I would need the upload tool, and the two drivers.) Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Ash.

    Nuvinci developer kits for cheap

The Harmony sounds good on paper. But I can't find anywhere to buy one from. It seems like they are only selling to OEMs.

How about: http://www.aseakoelectricbike.com.au/products-page/spare-parts/aseako-200w-brushless-motor/ They are in Brisbane, Australia, but I would think they would post.

What size chain wheel did you get? 5/16 (10 speed), 3/8 (8 speed), 1/2 (bmx)? Edit: I have probably got those sizes wrong. Don't normally work in inches.

    "E-Zilla" w/ Cro Motor mid-drive * UP-DATE Chopping Frame!!*

Can you post a close up picture of how you got two chain rings on the nuvinvi hub. I always thought it would be better to have the motor drive the back wheel, though the gears, without first having to gear down to pedal rpms, only to gear back up to the back wheel.

I would be interested in what you come up with in term of alternative battery boxes. I have been thinking how to do this. As I want a bigger box to put 48V in, (which I could just fit), but also some extra electronics (the control board for by nuvinci kit, a dc-dc converter for some lights, and...

Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

While it may not be accurate, I think most people would understand what is going on. "PC Connection" would be difficult to be confused with something else. "Configuration Mode" sounds like you are in the setup menu.

Just curious as to why you need it different to the throttle being in the off position. You could always solder a switch into the throttle single line, to disconnect it.

Any way to get 48v and 12v out of the same battery bank?

How many amps do you need to draw on the 12v? I have seen some small DC-DC 48V -> 12V converters which are around 90% efficient and can handle around the 10-50A mark. For example something like this...

Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

Can the Aux input be used to control max throttle out? I am trying to think of a way of using the new CA, to control the performance of a PAS, mid mount bike. So you can use the three way switch on the handle bars to say, Pedestrian mode (10%, 5kph, very slow accell), bike mode (70%, 30kph...

    Nuvinci developer kits for cheap

The problem with this statement, is I wouldn't ride at 10mph on the flat. Or another way, for the same amount of effort of going 10mph up a hill, I would be going a lot faster on the flat. I have a low power bike (200W nominal, 500W max), I have my NV set at 60rpm, even though the motor does...

    Tornaro Bighit Review and Upgrade

I have the 2011 model of this bike: http://www.aseakoelectricbike.com.au/modelsport.html Which is also a Tornaro bike, but with cheaper parts, ie V brakes and a cheaper front fork. (It was less then $1000 though). I don't know about efficiency, but I get 8-9Wh/km at speeds between 20-33km/hr...

    Tornaro Bighit Review and Upgrade

Nice, Is the cost still about the same. I assume this is the Manual N360, and not the Harmony. It would be sweet if it was the Harmony though. I have fitted the Nuvinci Dev Kit on mine (although I have a model without suspension.) but I like the clean look of that model better. Who sells the...

    Nuvinci developer kits for cheap

The auto shiftier seems to shift really well under full power (500W + Pedaling) on my bike. I am not sure the grade, but I end up in the lowest gear to climb.

    Nuvinci developer kits for cheap

It is an old model, and looks a lot more bulky then the new n360 Harmony. It also seems like a good way of promoting their product. Give away 'samples' cheap, so people find out about it. Just my thoughts.

If both wheels are on the ground, wont they always be spinning at the same speed. Otherwise the front of the bike would run further away from the rear.

So are you just interrupting the speed sensor, and sending the control unit a false speed to get the gear you want? Then in fully automatic mode, you just send though the speed data un-modified? Also, where did you get the push button from? (I would like one of those.)

    Toyota Develops Prototype Battery

The Chinese have finally worked out how to make good quality panels at much cheaper prices. That is the reason for the recent drops in solar panel costs. It has only been the last 3 months or so, we have seen the big drops. Perhaps we are closer, so shipping from China is less expansive. Back...

    Toyota Develops Prototype Battery

Sure that's right? A 3kW system would set you back about AUD$8000 here, which is about EUR$6000. I release the countries are different, but the cost of solar systems has dropped about 50% (half) of the last 12 months.

I was thinking the same thing. However I was planning on interfacing the to NuVinci controller's serial port. Looking in the appendix, it looks like you can send a command via serial to switch the controller from auto to manual. When in manual mode you can increment and decrement the 'gear...

    Nuvinci developer kits for cheap

I have been thinking about this. My bike currently generates approx 70RPM at the pedals under load (on the flat). I tested my current bike on two step hills yesterday. It got up one hill (no pedaling) in the lowest gear (1.31), but did not make it up the other hill (motor stalled.) however if I...

    Gears and Acceleration

Thanks for all the replies. So in summary, staying in a lower gear gives you more torque at the wheel, but you have to shift up quickly. Most people just start in a high gear, so they don't have to shift as much, which in practice accelerates more quickly. Is this right?
