    HyPer 9 SRIPM motor

Now that they are available, anyone running one yet? The specs and kit look pretty awesome. I wonder if they'll do larger hyper 11/13 like they did with the warp line. https://www.evwest.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=8&products_id=482&osCsid=7nlrtrvalr8ufmso2uvo981h30

    Melted a ebikekit mini-hub motor-2500watts cont.

Any thread with a title including words like melted/burned/exploded/vaporized... should begin with pictures of said occurrence. For example, this is what happens when you upgrade your phase wires, but not the ones in the controller: There. Now those that came to see something...

    My 4s2p A123 Amp20 Battery Build

Was pointing this thread to a friend building a battery, and thought I might as well post the battery is still in use, and still functioning perfectly. I've probably put over 6000km on it. The main battery that came with the bike is feeling a bit weak though...I think I'll probably have to...

too long battery wires will kill controllers

Guys, thanks for the thread...I'm currently assembling a plan to put an AC-75 and a zilla controller in my Toyota 4x4, and I hadn't even considered inductance on long battery leads hurting the controller. Seems obvious after reading it, and i'm a bit embarrassed for it not being on my radar in...

Evt 4000e electric moped, help needed

Oh, and might as well mention as well that it has no pedals, and is therefore not an e-bike, but a Limited Speed Motorcycle (LSM). Essentially the same as a 50cc scooter. You'll need to register & insure it to ride it [legally].

Evt 4000e electric moped, help needed

Your scooter is 48V with a brushed motor, 120A. No way it's going to go with 36V. In 2009, EVT switched to brushless motors, and a beefier 130A controller. I have an EVT 168 with the brushless motor. I even added a booster battery. Here's my thread, not sure if it helps with your brushed 4000...

    My 4s2p A123 Amp20 Battery Build

I paid $20 USD per cell when I ordered for AMP20M1HD-A. BMS-L4S100100-480 was $75. Assembly kit was $40. CHA-1210 charger (12v 10A) was $40. All USD. And I might as well mention that they accidentally sent me a 36v charger, and they just told me to keep it and sent me another one. Pretty cool...

    Motorino XPn Chinese ebike (scooter)

man, you sure have got some mileage out of that motorino :) You got that thing back when I had my gio 500+ POS... I think you take the award for "most modded motorino" :) hehe I'm sure I'd still have my Xph if it didn't get stolen. Ever think of moving up to something with plates &...

I got everything from OSN Power This is the BMS: http://www.osnpower.com/pddetaildate/product/detail/20141028_21905563.html Says it does 100A continuous, and over-current protection kicks in at 220A +- 30A. I have to say, the over-charge protection voltage at 3.9v is totally useless for a...

    My New 2010 EVT-168

So I've modded my scooter and added a booster battery for more speed. The mod itself is really simple, but I ended up having to re-arrange some stuff to get the new battery to fit, so I figured I'd post what I did. I went looking for a post from someone who's over-volted a brushless EVT, and...

    My 4s2p A123 Amp20 Battery Build

So the way the battery is going into the trunk under my seat means mounting the BMS on the side makes the nicest fit. Then I took the 6awg silicone wire, and split it into 4 wires. Each of the pads on the BMS has 4 holes in it, so I figure I'll use all of them for each connection. A whole...

    My 4s2p A123 Amp20 Battery Build

Now I got to wire this thing up to the BMS. First I did the ends to connect to the battery. I split the 6awg silicone wire I'm using into two, then used 10awg ring terminals on each end. Then I heat-shrunk it up. Should make a decent connection.

    My 4s2p A123 Amp20 Battery Build

I didn't like wires making the series connections, so I got some 2mm thick copper plate and made my own bus bars. I just cut them out with a jigsaw, and used my desk grinder to smooth the edges and round off the corners. I used 3 of the original bars to make a jig to drill the holes: Much...

So screw duct tape, I'm using metal banding for compression. I took a file and notched the end plates so the bands had a place to sit and not slide around. Crank those suckers down tight: Glue on the sides and bottom again: And copious amounts of duct-tape:

    My 4s2p A123 Amp20 Battery Build

Finally have some time to post pics and finish this thread. So I needed some end plates that were good and stiff to put compression on the cells. Metal seemed too heavy to me, so I went down to the dollar store and got a cutting board. It's about 3/8" thick, really REALLY stiff, and much...
