Mac, Triangle A123, Giant Hardtail Commuter - 1st build

Its an 8T motor with the upgraded phase wires (two wires per phase). 12 Fet controller, and cell_man's 52V triangle battery. I havent played much on the bike recently, but from memory (and i really could be wrong about this and wont know till i take it out for a spin) the current draw is...

    Another stolen bike.

Spybike by integrated trackers would have possibly helped get the bike back.

which replacement part for unknown fet?

Sorry mate.. Never got back around to fixing it yet.. I bought the spare fets, but fitted a Mac kit to my bike, and just never got around to fixing this little controller. Might start to look for another bike to motivate me . Good luck with yours though.. Ed.

replacing dead hall in a MAC

replacing dead hall in a MAC

This tester wont help you with the plug full of silicon, but certainly makes testing e-bikes (including halls, throttles and more..) much easier and quicker. Everything the tester does, can be done using a multi meter, but IMHO the tester makes testing quick and simple. I think you would still...

Raleigh MTB with MAC 500W & fibreglass panels (AUS)

Go the Mighty Mac !!! 2000 kms and still going strong is awesome. I wonder what the typical life span is for these motors. Mine is up to 450kms and used around 100Ah so far. Very very happy with it. I looked at my rear tyre, (cos id spaced mine similar to yours) and didnt notice extra wear...

Using light power output from Cycle Analyst question.

I havent made the change yet but from what I have read from Justin, who knows the CA best, you have to make sure that the direct plug is wired correctly to the inside of the controller. Some controllers dont have the wires on the correct side of the shunt, thus causing the neg readings.. Doesnt...

Using light power output from Cycle Analyst question.

Thanks for that Wayne, thats exactly what i was told and what the pic Justin sent me shows.. If you had to make those changes, wouldn't the shunt value change, thus needing to re measure the shunt value for the CA settings? Does anyone have the instructions or a link to the best forum post...

Using light power output from Cycle Analyst question.

Gday Scruff, I havent sorted mine yet, as it is doing no harm. I will get to it next time i need to pull things apart. Just saw your build thread.. What a beast.. Awesome bike mate.. Anyway, Justin wrote: " You need to make sure that both the black and the white leads are soldered to the...

First Build with my own three hands

Awesome trike.. I love it... I have read that the spark can ruin battery connections over time and also up the risk of controller damage. Not sure from experience though, as my cell_man battery came with a precharge resistor circuit built in, which charges the controller capacitors first...

Not being able to drive smoothly at half speed MAC

I have the 8T and cell_man's 12 Fet. It can smoothly take off and cruise at walking speed. I use only the first and second positions of the 3 speed switch, and find the throttle to be very nice.. Lots of control and steps up in gradual increments.. You wont regret it ..

Using light power output from Cycle Analyst question.

Thanks heaps for the reply Amberwolf. I just got a reply from Justin (ebikes.ca) with the exact info you mentioned. So you were spot on. I wasn't exactly sure what you meant when you said the 'CA power tap' but saw a good picture in Justin's email that cleared it all up. Thanks again...

Using light power output from Cycle Analyst question.

Hi everyone, I wired up my bike lights last night, as daylight saving finished and the commute is getting pretty dark after work. I used the Auxillary power output lead from the cycle analyst, then a step down dc - dc, then the 8.4V steady output to the bike light. The light only has power when...

I just went from a 6 turn to an 8 turn Mac

Hi everyone.. I use my 8T for a fairly flat commute to work, and love it.. Most people have talked about how good these motors go when you want to accelerate fast and get high speeds (and i agree totally) , but i just wanted to also state how happy i was with its smooth operation at low speeds...

    E-Bike for Rippers

Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

Awesome product mate.. Sorry if this has been asked before, but is the output voltage of the cable for powering lights on the handlebars configurable via the CA? As in the cable for powering my front lights on my bike. I am about to wire up the front lights on my first e-bike, and when i...

Mac, Triangle A123, Giant Hardtail Commuter - 1st build

Thanks heaps for that Susan and Knoxie.. Cheers also for the sound advice. I like to pedal, and accelerate with trying to keep under 1000 watts. ie. gradually. In my opinion, the bike is an absolute beast of a commuter. I hated riding into head winds before, and later in the week the slight up...

Mac, Triangle A123, Giant Hardtail Commuter - 1st build

Hi Rob, wish I could help ya mate. But I (stupidly) buried the programming cable plug under all those layers of tape and rubber underneath. I got so carried away with taping up my excess cable, that I forgot to leave the programming plug out. There is that much tape, that i figured i will get...

    Lucent NP1200 48-56V Power Supply - charger??

Lol.. Thanks heaps for that info.. I actually have a proper 6A charger from cell_man, but considered getting the lucent power supply (if it was suitable) as a backup. I wasnt sure if it would be useful so i let the auction go.. I did however have a bid to $21 just in case, but the other guy...

Mac, Triangle A123, Giant Hardtail Commuter - 1st build

Hi Veloman, I just took it for another spin and rechecked that top speed, it was actually 53.7km/h. (the 55 i stated earlier was what i thought it got to yesterday, but the cycle analyst showed my max speed was 53.7.. oops. I love fishing, and still tend to exagerate the size of my catch i...
