E+ powered by A123 20 Ah pack UPDATE

When you look at the wiring up close, the front and rear battery connectors are in parallel. There is only one set of positive and negative wires entering the hub motor/controller. My intent with only using the A123 battery is to avoid using the NiMh hub battery due to its limited number of...

E+ powered by A123 20 Ah pack UPDATE

Here's some info to help clarify the third party battery situation on an E+. The power wiring that connects to the front hub battery is in parallel with the wiring that allows connection to the rear battery. If you were to leave the NiMh battery plugged in and then connected an aftermarket...

cellman battery help hooking up to controller.

Seems like you're missing the pigtail with the three Anderson connectors and precharge resistor. Paul should be able to send you one.

It took me a long time to figure out what connectors E+ uses. They are from the Delphi Metri-Pack 480 series. I source mine from Waytek Wire. The only thing is that you need to buy the special Delphi crimping tool to properly install the connectors. It's pricey, but it makes the installation oh...

E+ powered by A123 20 Ah pack UPDATE

The system going to sleep every 10 minutes is definitely not due to thermal reasons as it shuts down at exactly 10 minutes every time. This is the case regardless of what level I'm in or how fast I am going. Perhaps, the system checks the NiMH battery and doesn't detect any significant change in...

E+ powered by A123 20 Ah pack UPDATE

I too have an A123 battery powering an E+ 1000 watt system and it is quite a fun experience! At full throttle, my CA reads close to 1500 watts and 40 amps! My setup is a 39volt 11.5ah battery that I purchased from Cell Man and it is wired to the rear battery Delphi plug with a CA wired inline...
