Make sure the colors match from the motor to the controller. One mixed can cause your situation to occur.

Are Torque Arms for Rear-Hub Motors necessary?

I wouldnt use any DD hub without atleast 1 TA attached. Ive had the unfortunate experience of having the hub spinout of the dropouts and ruined the hub.

1000w 48v 15ah hub drive = distance on the flat

A 15AH battery should net you 30-40 miles provided you go 18-20mph so no need for a 2nd battery.

    Bafang 48v500w vs Mac 48v1000w

I've owned 4 MAC hubs and didnt have any major problems with them that I didnt do myself. Its a very reliable 500W geared hub if treated properly.

EM3EV New Site Log in Problems?

I had the same problem when I first tried creating my account and ended up having Joseph making it for me. He also told me that it doesnt allow for numbers in the username which is very odd but my account is created. Hope that helps out a little.

    "Golden Motor Conversion Kits"

A 500W and 1KW hubs is perfect for the real legal ebikes not the ones you build that go 35+ mph. Those arent nothing more than unlicensed scooters or motorcycles. And I prefer EM3ev controllers over stock controllers no matter which hub I buy but my first foray into hubs was a GM kit and I...

1500W 48V Ebay kit, Advice for noob.

Welcome to ES Paul. It would help out if we knew where you're located at to help you better and why pay $275 through luna when you can find one around $160 on ebay?

    A first...

Well found out what the problem was and it wasnt the controller like I thought it was. Oddly enough the LCD was the culprit. When they made the LCD they labeled it wrong, literally. Everything was labeled backwards, cruise is power and power is cruise, PAS up is down and down is up, smh.

    A first...

Ive never had a conversion kit not work on using a 48v 10AH sla pack before until this one. Contacted them and was told that they dont run on less than 17AH packs but yet the older ones Ive bought ran fine on those packs, smh...

What are you using to display speed, miles, etc?

+1 I use the CA exclusively on all of my builds anymore. You really cant beat the Cycle Analyst with anything Ive seen thats available.

Headlight for fast ebike any idea ?

This is what Ive been using on all of my builds for a headlight and havent had one problem with any of them. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2x-CREE-U2-LED-5000-lumen-Headlamp-HeadLight-Bicycle-Bike-Head-Light-W-Charger-/311686165562?hash=item4891f1743a:g:~6gAAOSwPc9WzWeL

TPP, future trade war with China, how to get motors?

The TPP is bad for everything. It puts big corporations in control of everything and gives nothing to the people.

Build advice - ezee vs Mac, ca Infineon vs mini-e

In all honesty you're better off getting either a slow winding DD hub or mid-drive than a geared hub. A geared hub has one major flaw and that is it's clutch and I've had to replace the clutch on all 4 of my MAC hubs within 4 - 6 months of getting it and that's not reliable IMHO. Ive had roughly...

Interest piqued in DIY ebike conversion

Yes the MAC will work with a 52v battery pack. Ive used the MAC for nearly 3 years now and Ive even used a 60v pack with it using the 9fet 30A controller so no worries.

Interest piqued in DIY ebike conversion

You could just buy a MAC from Paul at EM3ev which IMHO is the best priced geared hub out there.

    29er are the fastest bikes

I wonder if the MAC would be better suited for these sized wheels instead of a small DD? Im buying a 10T in a 700C/29er rim for my next build as Im actually returning to those size bikes as preference in riding. I like the 26" bikes but theres something about those 700C, 28" and 29er bikes that...

Any DD hubs comparable to a MAC 10T?

Paul told me that the new MAC hub should be in within the next 3 or so weeks and just in time as it gets ordered on April 15th and hopefully itll be the newer one with the smaller axle and wires coming out under the axle.

Any DD hubs comparable to a MAC 10T?

2 new MAC hubs shown and one has a heatsink/TA built on it and I found this out just a couple of hours ago  http://www.crazylennysebikes.com/diy-and-misc-items.html

Any DD hubs comparable to a MAC 10T?

Problem is they dont make DD hubs like the 10T, its more like the 12T as 9C, MXUS, Clyte, etc all have done with their slow winds. And DD hubs are naturally going to be faster and more powerful than the geared as the clutch in the geared hubs cant take the amount of power the DDs can. WE all...

    Anybody else use throttle only?

When I first got into ebikes I bought an iZip from Amazon I believe and it had pedal assist. I was able to PA on it over 40 miles on a new 24V 10AH SLA battery. So I imagine that the way these motor kits are today that the PAS is better than it was back then.

Any DD hubs comparable to a MAC 10T?

What is the Kv on the 5T hub? I know from my calculations that the 10T is 7.08Kv and the ebay 36v 500W hub that is 293 RPM has a 8.14Kv motor. I guess my magic Kv number must be 7 as it seem to have the right combo for what I want, its not too fast but its not slow. And Id take the kit with the...

Any DD hubs comparable to a MAC 10T?

The MXUS 5T sounds more like the ebay kits more than the MAC the more I think about it. I run/ran all of my bikes on 30A infineon controllers and that 1000W ebay hub ran 28 mph on 48V and 35 on 60V batteries using that controller Ive had over the years and those DD hubs had nothing on the MAC...
