Nucular electronics - complete kit for ev!

I'm having the same issue as @Cowardlyduck. Display is losing connection with controller (CAN_LEC=5). It started a while after updating controller and display to latest FW. It's seems to be software bug. Sometimes it works OK, sometimes it has fault right after turning on controller.

How long do I need to wait for 12f controller currently?

Nucular Electronics owner's thread (setup infos, FW updates, links etc.)

I would like to connect small bike light directly to the display. Should I use USB output? How much power can I get? Can I turn the light on by enabling USB output?

Tested controller recently with BHT big block motor (similar to LMX motor) Works well. Autodetect went fine, it spins backward/forward at full speed - be careful with chain drives) Provides great throttle control without any adjustments. Currently is cold and raining so no longer test for now.

Revolt 120 pro eTrial overheating problem

My two bits: - you can't have 6kW continous with 1800RPM, expect no more than 4kW continous at that speed - this motor is quite hard to drive, lots of guys are struggling with controller settings

EVG EBIKE Edge 1500W DD Build Pics

It's steel frame right? So spread the dropouts! Even 150mm spacing is nothing for steel. After few rides it will 'adjust' to your wide motor.

Move washer that is under the nut from outside to inside of dropout. You will have 3mm more space for chain.

    BIG BLOCK alternative Motor

Good to know. I'm planning 20s too. So it can take more than 60A battery/150A phase, thats good :D BHT has only 6 poles not 23 like typical hub, this makes it harder to drive. Thick laminations are increasing cogging too. Motor noise is not a problem for me - chain will be louder anyway. Mine...

    BIG BLOCK alternative Motor

Thanks for quick reply. Why not mini-e? Controller is getting hot or BHT can handle more peak power?

    BIG BLOCK alternative Motor

Anyone tested BHT big block with Adaptto controller? It is pretty similar to geared hub so it should work, but I would like to be sure :)

    $14.99 72v Sunwin Controller

If you turning controller on with self-study wires connected and it rotates in wrong direction just press throttle and it will change direction and match halls. Then wait a while and disconnect self-study wires. It should work fine after that.

    $14.99 72v Sunwin Controller

Anyone compared throttle control smoothness with another controller? I had 6 and 15FET Greentime controllers - both had terrible twitchy throttle, barely controllable. I used also KU123 clone, and throttle worked much better on this one (but still little twitchy)

Grin tech controller repair in Europe

@liamcaff That will probably be best solution. @NHM Maybe you check them using technique posted by liamcaff - it's pretty easy and you need only basic multimeter and 5 minutes.

Grin tech controller repair in Europe

There are three typical damages: - blown FEts - shorted phase wires or too much load - easy repair - damaged 5V supply - shorted signal/hall wires - fairly easy repair - damaged logical circuits inside - usually water damage, especially when you ride on salty roads in winter - difficult to...

    #crossbreaks' midmotor CB120

This is most important: Long motor will have allways better power density than shorter one. So 5kg long stator motor is allways better than 5kg short stator motor. In shorter motor more copper is just wasted on connections between teeth (non-active)

    #crossbreaks' midmotor CB120

So including cooling capabilities this custom RV120 will be over two times more powerful than BHT big block? That will be nice

    HPC Revolution XXX

Your configuration looks good. BMS is much more comfy to use - one 18s will be better(one power stage). I'm using Bestechpower BMS - these are chinese but good quality.

    GCinDC's Giant DH Comp

Try to open and clean these. They may work again without replacing pistons. Personally I think that using cheap Shimano hydros is good idea - you could replace these after winter ;) Just use metallic pads and big discs.

Are you planning to look into suspension bearing? I would be very happy if you can measure for me suspension link marked on photo. I don't have orginal one so I can't copy existing one. For my frame I will be using BHT Big block motor connected directly to the hub (no freewheel) with 0.5in...

Best 3500MAH 18650 cells for 240-300 cell battery build?

@KarlJ Average voltage during discharge on these cells im much lower. For example Samsung INR18650-35E in ebike applications has less than 12Wh. @Offroader Definitely yes, just don't expect rock solid voltage under load. Allways is good to add few parallel cells ;)
