    LR - Would the planetary be sufficient for mountain biking? Not too extreme, but lots of long pulls. I'm guessing not, because the reduction seems a bit light. I have a friend who wants to get back into mountain biking with his wife, and this kit might be appropriate for them.

    Has anyone used one of the Sturmy-Archer 5-speed hubs? I believe they are used for heaver contrivances. A quick look didn't give me torque-handling specs.

    Better idea: don't park on the street. I commute to work on my e-bike, and my employer is happy to let me park the bike in my office. Bikes don't last half a day on the street in San Francisco.

    If you need an example of the value of LR's kit, checkout a competitor: the Eco-Speed mid-drive kit. (http://www.ecospeed.com) Over $3000 for a 1300W kit. And LR's kit is, IMHO, much better engineered and constructed. (No bias here. Disclaimer: I just took delivery of my Big Block kit!)
