made a video of my tiny skateboards in actions

That's awesome man :D Don't your massive balls get in the way when riding these tiny boards though?

Roadster E-Board Build (videos added 15/06/14)

Thanks :) Simply put, no not at all. I have used lock nuts for the screws that hold the two pieces together and just a normal screw (no nut) for the piece which screws to the brake hole in the truck hanger.

    Drevious' E-Longboard

Nice job on the sprocket mount, that looks really good. Your motor mount looks ugly as hell (a lot like mine was). Don't take that as an offence though, it's not meant to be. I think it's important for people to realise that even with a few hand tools, they can make a motor mount which...

Nothing new, Just happy with my board!

That's great, I'm looking forward to the time when I'm able to ride my board to work every day :)

Roadster E-Board Build (videos added 15/06/14)

Haha yeah, gotta make the most of the summer in the UK! I know it's not the nicest at all. I'm still to have a proper play with the ESC settings, don't think I have any timing adjustment but I can change the acceleration curve. Think I should have the curve start shallow or steep? :?

Roadster E-Board Build (videos added 15/06/14)

Finally got a chance to get a little bit of footage. Definitely some issues that need ironing out. SNt70MdUh0Q The belt alignment isn't perfect. In the first clip, the grub screws had come loose so the motor was just spinning without turning the wheel - that got fixed. The brakes seem...

Roadster E-Board Build (videos added 15/06/14)

I still haven't tried it out yet, had other things to fix so the only chance I've had to work on/test ride the board has been under 6s with my 150A Toro. I believe beto_pty used an aircraft ESC on his 12s Destroyer build. As far as I know, the brakes on them are basically useless so he used a...

Roadster E-Board Build (videos added 15/06/14)

Hey drmacgyver, 1) Wiring the batteries in series is easy peasy! My wiring is basically like this: All of my connectors are 5.5mm bullets since that's what my batteries came with (I'm guessing your new batteries will be the same). You could solder some 4mm - 5.5mm adapters but I think...

Roadster E-Board Build (videos added 15/06/14)

Hi! 1) This depends on what you want to do with your board really. Obviously one motor and one ESC is the cheapest solution and is enough for most people's needs. If you want to take your board (mountain board I assume) off road then you will probably want two motors. If you take this route you...

WIN FREE ENERTION GEAR | !! WINNERS ANNOUNCED !!

I built an electric skateboard so I could ride it to work every day - here is my reasoning why. Here in the UK it seems that we are seeing an ever increasing number of cars on our roads. Even after global fuel price increases, rising insurance premiums and the effect which burning fossil fuels...

Roadster E-Board Build (videos added 15/06/14)

Thanks from both of us! Yes the ABEC7 bearings run fast for sure, can't compare them to the ABEC5s though. These wheels seem to have a flat profile, when they were stacked in the box they made a perfect cylinder. Don't think they have any polarity at all. I'll probably change the wheel around...

Roadster E-Board Build (videos added 15/06/14)

They are the 5 inches (also sold as 140mm) with the narrow profile. Not sure of the exact measurement but I think they only do narrow or wide. The wider one are more expensive. To be honest I didn't try starting without pushing. My instinct would be to say that it probably won't do but I'm not...

Roadster E-Board Build (videos added 15/06/14)

torqueboards: I may look into some padding, I filed and sanded the aluminium's edges so they are pretty smooth though :) The Onda wheels - wow! SPEED: Fast. These things just want to roll! My pneumatic wheels may have just been extremely inefficient but by comparison the Onda wheels are...

Roadster E-Board Build (videos added 15/06/14)

Might add one of those if I need it but I don't think the bolts are gonna move, it's pretty solid :) Got the wheels mounted today, it's looking good. The wheels spin nicely and everything is nice and tight. Here's a quick look at how I strap my batteries to the board. Four...

Boat ESC - success Only works for me though.

Could this be a voltage issue? From memory I think those motors are only rated 5-10s

Think you can get sleeve adapters from smaller shafts to larger shafts as well. Just had a quick look but couldn't find any. Can anyone confirm?

6" pneumatic tyre and MBS mounts -ALIEN...

    I'm using a belt drive and it's just fine :D EDIT: That's a pretty decent price for a 60T pulley :)

6" pneumatic tyre and MBS mounts -ALIEN...

you can also add into the mix the fact that large aluminium timing pulleys (~60t+) cost a lot more than chain sprockets which achieve the same gearing ratios

What are you using to space your non-driven wheels out along the axle beetbocks? I just used aluminium pipe.
