Is this a good start for a DIY kit? N00B question.

To go 40 miles, you'll need the biggest battery you can buy, so the 13.5ah will not be enough. It's a cruel world out there and too many variables. I personally would also get the power cuff button thingie: BBS01/02/HD PUSH BUTTON EBIKE EBRAKE. It's kinda like a clutch, so you can get into...

Battle of the Q100 and Q128

I have a q100h and I've read great things about the newer q128 motors. 1) how much heavier is the q128? 2) does bmsbattery still sell the old unreliable q128? Or the newer ones are only the -c and -h versions? Reason being I may build a front motor folder and website only lists q128 and no...

What build is this? Mac motor? What controller and how do you get such as clean install? You have a build thread for this?

    Road Bike or Comfort Bike?

Convert the comfort bike and keep the road bike a road bike. As for hub vs mid drive argument, is been beaten to death. Granted I only have a BBS02 and it performs wonderfully with a trailer and a kid on the handlebar up an incline with a modified granny gear. But for just around town, I almost...

    Budget Bike Build

I find myself riding my rear hub more than my bbs02 for some reason, it's just easier to ride and less hassle/maintenance.

Geared front hub motors from BMS - Q100H, Q128 at 48V

I have the 201rpm q100H laced to a rear 700c and 13s (48v) getting about 22 mph unassisted using the bottle battery integrated 09 controller for a clean install. It's great. MAC motor would be a different beast in terms of power and weight.

How to mount the darn controller!

I'm interested in what everyone dose. There's just no good place to put a large controller and all the wires hanging off of it, especially if you want to ride in the rain.

Specs of the Luna Cycle 750 geared hub motor/controller

Does anybody know if the MAC motor kit can be ordered entirely with higo connectors?

Specs of the Luna Cycle 750 geared hub motor/controller

It's not the 2-speed motor, just the good old fashion geared hub motor.

Specs of the Luna Cycle 750 geared hub motor/controller

Personally, I want light weight, clean installation, decent torque for hills (likely wouldn't be a problem for 20" wheel), and 25mph.

Specs of the Luna Cycle 750 geared hub motor/controller

Are you doing a folding frame, cuz I would be afraid to run that much wattage.

Specs of the Luna Cycle 750 geared hub motor/controller

Seems to be one motor for all wheel sizes. Without knowing the RPM, I can only assume that it'll be pretty slow for a 20 inch wheel.

Specs of the Luna Cycle 750 geared hub motor/controller

Does anybody know the specs on this Luna Cycle 750W geared hub and the controller? https://lunacycle.com/geared-hub-ebike-kit-750w-for-front-or-rear/ I want to build a 20 inch electric folding bike to run 52V and am wondering if this will be a good choice especially for a 20 inch wheel. I just...

    MAC vs generic geared motor

Luna said the 20 inch and 26 inch share the same winding. They don't know what kind of controller it is saying "The motor compares pretty well with any other geared motor, they crank these things out by the millions. " it looks exactly like the ones on ebikekit.com

    MAC vs generic geared motor

The geared hub motor kit sold by lunacycle appears to be the same as the other generic kit sold by other manufacturers, as Luna told me. I really like the simplicity of the controller and connectors, more waterproof and less of a mess as opposed to the infineon controllers sold with the MAC...

Battery Bag from 36v 800w kit (Yescom)

I got one that's pretty much new from yescomusa 48V 1000W kit if you want one, but it's more like 7.5 inches tall and 16 inches long, seems big.

    Q100 and Q128 with 0.35mm laminations

I got the above setup. 201rpm rear Q100H laced into 700c locally, 09 battery controller sine 20a with 48V 13S. I get 22mph. Nothing exciting, but it's light enough for me to ride it like a regular bike. Q100H rear motor 2.21 kg Controller 0.246 kg S-LCD3 0.168 kg Throttle, PAS 0.08 kg Brakes...

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Saw this motor awhile back and surprised that in-depth discussion hasn't picked up in this forum. What is the chainline measured from middle of the seat tube to the middle of the chainring? What's the consensus on the reliability? How does it compare to the Bosch system? Can it handle 13S or...

To mid drive or not to mid drive

I have a direct drive, a geared hub, and a mid-drive. I enjoy riding the direct drive with the sine wave controller the most. Mid-drive is good when I'm towing or when I'm expecting to climb steep hills.

Which RPM Q100 on 700c tires?

Yea, unfortunately, downtube batteries will not make your bike look stealthy. I tried to make mine less conspicuous, but it's obvious. Probably a rack battery and some panniers to cover everything up is the stealthiest setup from BMS Battery.

Which RPM Q100 on 700c tires?

I have the 201rpm q100H laced to 700c and 13s (48v) getting about 22 mph unassisted using the bottle battery integrated 09 controller for a clean install. It's decent and good for commuting with short hill climb but nothing to get too excited about. What I would do is just use the existing 6...

PAS (Pedal Assist Sensor) installation problems.

I just grinded parts of the disc so it can get really close to the bottom bracket without binding and then tilted the sensor about 45 degrees inward. Remember, you can flip the sensor on the bracket if you have it on backwards. Also, sensor picks up signals even though it's sitting at an angle.
