Help with controller settings, bike is slow

I found where I read it - it is from the "read me" file with the software from em3ev Any idea what I should do with this? Note: I set the battery current to half of 40 (20a) and it was very sluggish

Help with controller settings, bike is slow

Awesome info - One final question: I heard somewhere that the rated current was supposed to be half what it is actually...? So If I want 40a I set it to 20a? This sounds odd but I dont want to set it at 40a and actually have it trying to pull 80a Did I read wrong? Do I set it to actual...

Help with controller settings, bike is slow

I am not sure how my FETs compare but these are what I have: IRFB4110 Mosfets I like your idea of setting a high LVC and seeing where the actual voltage is and I will do that today What do you think I can set my phase and rated current to based off those FETs? Thank you God bless

Help with controller settings, bike is slow

Thank you guys First Question: Battery limit going down - I always am safe with the numbers and because lipos can be pulled down to around 3v per cell, I gave a 2v comfort zone to be safe - 36v would be 3v per cell, 38v is 3.16666v per cell. Second question Block Time: I understand block...

I have a crystalyte 406/4011 running on 12s (44.4v) 10,000mAh I *had* it on a generic 28a controller but after the shunt mod and during a hill climb I blew it I knew I needed something stronger Now I have the 12fet 45a customizable em3ev infineon controller seen here...

    Cannot find Infineon USB Software

Okay, I have software - New question My em3ev controller has 6 AWG wire (if I am measuring correctly) The software says to rate the amperage at 2.0 - 2.5 X the current of the batteries I am running 6s batteries in series for a total of 10,000mAh 44.4v 20C Constant What should I set this...

    Advice and Recommendations needed please!

I would guess he meant for the battery connections on the controller, no? I agree with dogman, the wires for the motor can be reversed. (in the RC world we reversed wires when the car/trust would be running the wrong direction, again as dogman said)

Pop goes the 1420 ( My fault )

What died - the charger or the battery If it was a thin gauge wire, you likely shorted something that may be easily replaced Forgive me if I misunderstood God Bless

    Advice and Recommendations needed please!

Take a look at this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/CS-36-5-36V-300W-500W-brush-motor-controller-for-Electric-bicycle-scooter-NEW-/251483035083 I believe the reason yours is different then the standard is because your hub motor is brushed as opposed to the current brushless hub motors The controller...

Maybe its just me (and a few others ; P ) but I was happy pedaling at about 20mph - then when I added e-power I hit 30mph, and now I want more and more! I guess I (and we) just have an innate need for speed : )

Help with my new Front Wheel Motor

Absolutely, use them : ) Because Nimh have moderate voltage drop you may find your throttle cutting out due to the LVC Let me know what I can do to help : ) You can see my build in my signature that shows a similar build but instead of Nimh I am using Lipos

Help with my new Front Wheel Motor

From the sound of the setup you will need at least 24v for the controller You have stated that you have a bunch of 7.2v batteries I assume by this voltage notation that you have Nimh batteries (1.2v cells in 6 cell packs) This type of setup is not optimal but could be used At full charge...

Modding cheap controllers can add great benefits but if pushed too far, you can fry the controller I had a 28a BMSBattery controller and soldered/copper wired the shunts and after a few rides the controller died I just bought a 40a controller so I should be seeing better torque and less...
