    Voltage/current trimpot adjust

I may resort to that but not my first choice. The concern is knowing exactly what the setting does and getting that benchmark reference so after twiddling, it can be set back to the initial setting. with only one meter and not knowing what trimpot does what, you have a good chance of missing the...

    Voltage/current trimpot adjust

I have a generic Yarlan 16s lithium charger. This is set to 67.5 volts but I want it to charge a 15s battery. Inside there are three trimpots and from what I read one can adjust the voltage and current. Rather than trial and error the adjustments, maybe others have done this before. thanks

kWeld - "Next level" DIY battery spot welder

Sounds awesome. What us the ETA for availability and estimated pricing? So many upgraded features and capabilities - going to boost the price for sure. :)

kWeld - "Next level" DIY battery spot welder

Won't the limiting factor still be power input capacity like the current model? I could weld .02mm copper if I add capacitor or maybe a stronger battery.

kWeld - "Next level" DIY battery spot welder

Appreciate all the useful information and experiments you've done. From your posts and many others over the hundreds, it seems the practical limit of the kWeld on Cu is .1mm with the Ni tape. Maybe .15 Cu plus Ni tape. Mods are needed if reliable .2mm Cu is to be accomplished, stock kWeld is...

Prep work for larger battery from harvested cells

I got an XTAR VC8 to speed up battery condition and capacity testing. I got it on amazon for around 45 bucks. It's going back because for what it does, it costs too much. Comments 1) charges up to 8 batteries at once but limited to one amp. 2) discharge is quite slow as in hours 3) capacity...

Recommend weld tab specs for 16s/60 2170 build

I've read many posts on nickel, nickel sandwich, copper tape and find the topic very interesting but I'm asking a favor to get dialed on the workable options for this build. Thanks. 96 Lithium 3.7v 4800 mAh 2170 cells combined as follows: 5 packs = 6p X 3s = 28.8 Ah x 11.1v = 320 watts/pack 1...

    Yescomusa.com 500 & 1000 watt 48v rear kit review

My battery pack is done, bulged to the point it was scary and capacity dropped too low. Was the best pack you ran with the 15s 12p? I have a 100 li-ion cells and working on what is the optimal config of the pack.

I've followed your posts for years and am very impressed that that hub motor and setup have performed reliably for thousands of miles. I got the same motor/wheel/electrical kit and it's holding up well too. Thanks again.

kWeld? Still the go to spot welder?

I ordered a kWeld a couple weeks ago, fully paid a week ago, and crickets. Just wondering about 18650shrink. Are such delays normal? There was hint of product constraints so unclear what is the typical time from order to delivery. thanks

kWeld? Still the go to spot welder?

Thanks for the comments. FTYI - The Malelectrics bundle runs about $160 USD, so getting into the kWeld price range. https://malectrics.eu Seems like kWeld units continue being supply constrained but will go that route to be better equipped if doing a more robust pack.

kWeld? Still the go to spot welder?

Finally doing a build where building battery pack from raw cells. Over time the kWeld always had a good following and rep so just wanted to confirm this is still in the top tier of DIY spot battery welders. also, what are options for getting one, used or new? TIA

Cycle Analyst - still solid choice?

Such as having to snip plug off the CA3, read some specs to learn the wiring from the existing controller what needs to pair up and manually wire together?

Cycle Analyst - still solid choice?

Wonderful discussion and perspective. Let me add a couple requirements in my specific case which makes a strong case that the CA is the best choice. 1) generic Chinese hub motor" 2) function over looks (DIY conversion hauls ass but looks a mess) 3) no time to mess with a DIY solution 4) low...

Cycle Analyst - still solid choice?

Looking for something like this and the CA device has been around for some time without any updated models. With tech, stuff changes so quick, do you feel it is still a solid choice for the functions it offers? If other products are out there sure love to hear. thanks

    V-twin Electric

Hi Pat, Thanks for the reply. I still want to build a custom e boardtrack racer and the drop look is so perfect to place a motor for mid-drive powerplant. When I start seriously planning I will contact you via your website and phone to advise on options and ensuring it all goes together in...

    V-twin Electric

Hi Pat, The electrified versions look awesome. Since you have so many options it is difficult to get a sense of the specific components used for these builds. If I may ask a few clarifying questions. 1) The boardtrack model says a standard Flyer model was used. Does that mean the regular...
