    The Heavyweight (Hub Motor Build)

Sure am, than I will make a carbon fiber top to seal it from the elements.

    The Heavyweight (Hub Motor Build)

Small update, still not electric..... but am slowly reinforcing the deck to make it stiff as possible. Ordered some 6K carbon twill, this stuff is incredibly thick compared to the unidirectional carbon I was using previous, pretty sure if I had of used this stuff off the bat this deck would be...

    The Heavyweight (Hub Motor Build)

Thanks man! Yea, more than likely it is because the fibers are not sandwiched together perfectly, there are a few areas that had more resin than fiber unfortunately. Am going to screw hardwood strips along the perimeter of the battery space basically boxing it in, and than put two more full...

    The Heavyweight (Hub Motor Build)

Yea man sounds good to me, let me know how much you are asking for the larger space cell as well as an email so I can paypal you some money. If you feel confident about the quality you can just get them to ship it straight to me too, if it makes it any easier.

    The Heavyweight (Hub Motor Build)

Settled in Australia now, and had some time to find a board for my trailer and set it up. Rode around with a 14 year old kid to test it out and everything held up well, a little interesting to get going with all the extra weight, but once you are moving it is quite easy to push. Will have to get...

    The Heavyweight (Hub Motor Build)

2nd coat of seal. And tomorrow it will be painted white to finish it all off. All in all am pretty happy with how it turned out

    The Heavyweight (Hub Motor Build)

Yep, just threads on. Took a 76mm piece of stock and made a duplicate of what is on the end of the truck already (7.92mm shaft with 5/16-24 threads), than flipped it around and drilled and tapped the 5/16-24 threads on the inside to about 30mm deep, than came in after with an 8mm drill bit and...

    The Heavyweight (Hub Motor Build)

Will be posting all about it when it happens! Made some axle extensions at work today for the truck on my trailer

    The Heavyweight (Hub Motor Build)

Thank you sir! Yep wanted to wrap the edges to help give as much dimension as possible, for more strength.............unfortunately, some of the resin and carbon wrapped around to the other side onto the grip tape, and is now no good. Thought they sprayed this grip on, turns out it is just...

    The Heavyweight (Hub Motor Build)

Well here it is, fresh out of the vacuum bag It is far from perfect cosmetically, and now that I have done this a couple times would do it a lot differently...the biggest thing would be not being in such a rush to get it done! The hand pump worked great actually, just the bag was a pain...

    The Heavyweight (Hub Motor Build)

Supplies came in yesterday and immediately started laying fiber, unfortunately did not have a lot of time from getting off work, tell too dark to work to sneak in any pictures of the process, am in a mad rush to get this done before friday. So far everything has been going fairly smoothly...

MBS All Terrain 100mm All Terrain Flywheels

Interesting! They don't mention what the compound is though, would imagine it would be thane, but never know if it is strictly and an offroad wheel. The rounded contact patch with knobs would be useless on the street.

How To DIY Fiberglass All-In-One Deck

Love what your doing here Man! Though...why not take the time to make the deck symmetrical? That is waay out to lunch, and think you will find it quite awkward to ride.

    The Heavyweight (Hub Motor Build)

The brackets will be recessed into the board, but not very much at all, and yes the recesses in the deck will be reinforced with carbon. Could definitely see the deck cracking as is, just for the simple fact that I exposed the veneers, it would probably delaminate the layers real quickly! Am...

    The Heavyweight (Hub Motor Build)

Not completely sure what you mean by the question. If you are asking if the deck was originally recessed for the brackets, than no it was not, I took the material out. My last set up I recessed the brackets completely into my deck so you could not see them and sandwiched them between two metal...

    The Heavyweight (Hub Motor Build)

That is an incredibly kind offer, and I thank you very much for the offer!....however, pretty sure I will be able to make this bag work. With the planned plug put in place I will not have any obscene corners where stretching would be needed so think I should be good. Cheers

    The Heavyweight (Hub Motor Build)

Was planning on clamping a piece of wood over the plugged area outside of the bag once everything was setup in the vacuum bag. Unfortunately this roarockit bag is super thick and does not bend into corners well, so if I were to glue wood onto the foam plug and put it in the bag it would effect...

    The Heavyweight (Hub Motor Build)

This is what the layup will look like. Most of the layers are in the battery space to make up for all the material taken out. The layers with lines down the middle are orientated 90 to the rest of the layers. And this is the plug I made.....it is not pretty since I just used what was laying...

    The Heavyweight (Hub Motor Build)

By all means, butt away! My deck was only 16mm thick to begin with, and took about 10mm out to make a nice nook for the battery, where as those little grooves at the bottom go right to the last maple veneer. So figure that it is in my best interest to build it with overkill in mind, rather...
