Dani's mid drive (GNG motor) - CAD heavy pics!

I thought about it and I still don't know. This will be compact, but it will take space in the frame triangel, where I wanted my batteries. Next problem is to get the belt from the triangle to the rear without interfering with the frame itself. A full suspension bike will be easier as my...

Dani's mid drive (GNG motor) - CAD heavy pics!

I looked for the crossbreak setup, I think I found what said. It's a good setup, though it limits me in chosing gears. But I can live with that. If I would use a small gearbox like this (with only 1 gear), this could save some space and belts and .. well, I'll stick to the two stage beltdrive...

As much as a bike can handle  I'll have a look at this later today, need to take a written exam :? Thanks again, this is very helpful

Dani's mid drive (GNG motor) - CAD heavy pics!

That sounds good. I'd love to get rid off the chain. So noisy, very nasty. Belt drive <3. If I chose a 30cm pulley on the rear that would give me a reduction of 10.5. Now I'd only need 1:3 for the primary reduction. So a 9cm diameter pulley would do the job (instead of the big ~14,3cm wheel)...

Dani's mid drive (GNG motor) - CAD heavy pics!

something going on here :D At this stage I need to reconsider some things, before this becomes effortless. I want 2000W. So the small GNG motor provides 48V x 40A = 1920W. Close enough. The RPM should be 3200 something, under load maybe 3000 (hill climbing) ? Also I want torque badly. I...

Dani's mid drive (GNG motor) - CAD heavy pics!

Hm.. thanks for the input. I couldnt find any source for someone trying such low tooth count. I have no experience with timing belts, yet. In the end I think it's easiest to just use a classic 3 stage gearbox. No huge pulleys, no belts, pretty silent and somewhat cool sound. Rocksolid. I...

Dani's mid drive (GNG motor) - CAD heavy pics!

Is that better? :D It's free at last for me. As a student, you know.. cross post over here Right now I'm stuck at the pulley. I don't want the full 25mm width, it looks too bulky and costs too much in lasercutting. Also the lasercut is bad for tiny radiuses. Instead I try 8M with 20mm. Main...

    LightningRods mid drive kit

Thanks for the insight. I thought 8M with 20mm should do the job as good as 5M with 25mm. I see now that the tooth count on the driver is a problem, indeed. 90T/18T = 5, so you have a reduction of 1:5. 18T (5M) = 28.65 pitch circle. Minimal suggested tooth count on 8M is 22 with a pitch circle...

7kW DC Motor. Make good use of it?

:D no. No helicopter, jetski, hovercraft or anything that moves outside my garage. :P

A design question: Why did you go with HTD 5M with 25mm instead of, say, 8M with 20mm?

I forgot: I live in germany, no sense in building anything that moves on a road. Too many laws etc

7kW DC Motor. Make good use of it?

    Hi guys, I have a 7kW DC motor lying around and I don't know what to do with it. It was a CNC drive or something similar, once. Regarding the motor: It has two modes, which read: S1: 152 V / 33,2 A / 4500 W / 3000 rpm (without fan) S2: 155 V / 51 A / 7000 W / 3000 rpm (with fan "10 l/sec"...

It will be www.fabtools.de I don't intend to do commercials, but this is the best I could find. It's "cheap" compared to other locals and you can upload .dfx files and get a quote almost instantly. I chose Lasercut HQ, aluminium. Although it is german, you can easily use it. The keywords are...

Thanks. Yes, thats solidwork (2012). I considered stainless steel, but it is heavier and more expensive. I'm going for 6mm aluminum. hopefully there will be no update on this

Dani's mid drive (GNG motor) - CAD heavy pics!

Thanks for the info, very handy. I'm still looking for a good way to make my own GT2 pulley (25mm, 90 tooth). Lasercutting is expensive (4x6mm sprockets cost roughly 50€ plus screws..) and the lasercut quality may not be good enough. I get problems with those tiny radiuses. It might not be that...

Hey ebike11, as of now: no. One day: possible. I don't have any working prototype yet. I don't know the final costs. This will take weeks/months. But nice to know there is already demand for it :D Thanks for your feedback, guys! I really appreciate it. This community rocks 8) Edit: I love...

Damn! I should build the whole thing with a 3D printer.. that is impressive, I like it. Did you do it yourself? Oh, maybe I should start my own topic instead of spamming the original GNG BB Drive thread?

Dani's mid drive (GNG motor) - CAD heavy pics!

I'll screw a light/thin aluminum plate on the ground. I cant make it one piece because i can only bend around 1 axis in that case, not allowing me to do a second brace this way. Even a 2mm full plate, fixed with 6-8 screws to the bottom should increase the stiffness by a lot. and secure the...

Dani's mid drive (GNG motor) - CAD heavy pics!

:D happy to give food for thought. Rotating on slides to set the tension is a nice idea.. but I think it will take more space/material this way. Still interesting though. I also secretly thought about the same setup, but instead of a huge drivebelt with high gear ratio.. why not use another...

Dani's mid drive (GNG motor) - CAD heavy pics!

Thanks, thats right. stress should be no problem afterwards. Yeah, it's not correct applying torque to the analysis. Torque only applys to the jackshaft and where the motor is mounted to the sheets (the motor needs "to be hold in place" with a momentum). The top should only be applied with the...

Dani's mid drive (GNG motor) - CAD heavy pics!

Thanks, I will try that. It looked to me I can order directly, as I was able to set my country to overseas and the shipping cost went up quite a bit. Oh well :) Edit: In the end I'll end with 85$+ per motor. Hm..

Dani's mid drive (GNG motor) - CAD heavy pics!

I could and should box it up. I think the hotspot for the hole is not true, but this makes me think my other sliding holes might be stressed more as the real diameter/area of contact is smaller in reality. The mesh quality was already pretty good, see pics. I further shrink everything down and...
