    torque arm picture thread

Here's the Torque Arm i whipped up yesterday. This is for a Cute Q100CST on a Carbon Frame that I'm working on. Hopefully it should be enough. I made it from some mild steel angle iron I had lying around. I't about 5mm thick.

    S06S controller marked as 36/48V

I just received my order from BMS Battery of a S06S 250W Torque Simulation Sine Wave Controller. The label states "DC36/48V". Is this a typo or have they changed the controller? I purchased this to match up with a Q100CST 32 hole 201Rpm motor which is going into a 29er wheel. My ideal setup...

    Strava anyone?

I use it but make my rides on the E-bike "Private". I had thought that if enough E-bikers were interested Strava may make an ebike class so as not upset the lycra crowd.

Building a legal ebike in South Australia

I'm still slowing building mine. I would be interested in collaborating with the 200Watt output limit electronics and software. What hub are you thinking of? I've been eyeing off the cute 100cst with 32 holes for my 29er.

Coyote DIY Torque-arm, open source 2600W DD hub

Would a BMX chain tensioner be suitable in place of the the cable clamp? You could place a bolt through the hole meant for the axle and use the thread for the clamp.

Building a legal ebike in South Australia

I live in SA as well and I am about to start my second build so this is an interesting question. I have looked through some legislation and design rules in relation to the 200 watt rule. There appears to be no standard to have your bike certified to comply with. There only appears to be a...

    Show me your electric velomobile.

In South Australia there is a race series mainly for school kids but also for some adult team http://www.pedalprix.com.au/. My son has raced these for the last 5 years. One of the vehicles is a Trisled chassis with an Ozone fairing. His team of six average riders road over 650km in 24 hours...

How to integrate an RC to throttle my e bike controller

Hi fred184tw You could use an Arduino to interface between the receiver and the motor controller. The Arduino could read the signal from the RC receiver. The output from an RC receiver is usually a Pulse width that varies from 1000 - 2000 microseconds with the centre being 1500 microseconds...

    Pedal assist proof of concept

I don't know if anyone is still interested in this idea but I had a similar idea. I have an old mountain bike that I like to ride to work so I installed a 200W front hub motor. I am trying to improve my riding cadence so I have used an Arduino pro mini to read the cadence from the pedal assist...
