kWeld, battery back spot welder - already built, but never used - prefer US onlyE

Selling my kWeld, received it a couple of months ago, and put it together, but never had a chance to use it, and am in the middle of moving, and don't expect to make use out of it anytime soon... I figure might as well get it to someone that will. I've kept it in an anti static bag, inside the...

I suppose that's likely more or less what happened... just kinda strange with the throttle setup I did... the low end was set to 1.2-1.3v range, and without me hitting the throttle, it doesn't even get close to that. But, the good new is, after fixing everything, I just ran setup again, still...

Minimum yes, thanks I found that out a little while ago, meant to post an update of the incorrect number I had originally found. But, I'm pretty sure that the motor is capable of a lot more than the 5,400 max RPMs, especially at higher voltages... so 6 * 5400 really isn't that different than...

I bumped the closed throttle voltage up from 0.48 to 0.8.... and set the throttle low/hide roughly 1.20 to 4.30... and when the throttle is closed it's definitely below 0.6 without a doubt. So don't think that's the problem. But I definitely see why that's a good place to look.... hopefully...

Can't say I have a successful run to compare to, but I think the FOC impedence measurement seems like it might be right. When I run the test, the motor buzzes twice, without movement... previously I had a measurement current ~ 25A erpm ~12k and got something around 138 uH and ~27mOhm .... last...

No temp sensors, tried with online L7R and not (been leaving it disabled the last 20 tries or so). And did not set the throttle coefficient till recently... that seems like it was one f my mistakes, was expecting it's default settings to be something like 1,0,0... must have been glancing over...

OK, I've run the configuration a few dozen times, in sensorless and hall sensor mode... both in and out of calibrate hall mode. Every single time, after I save, power down, remove the setup jumper... and start again.. I get the 4 LEDs blinking alternatively 2 at a time.... which I thought was...

I've been trying to configure and test my lebowski build on my cyclone 3000w mid drive. I'm not sure the motor's pole count, so not sure about the correct erpms (can't seem to find this info anywhere, seen people asking about it, but no one giving a response, except for 1 video in russian...

Yes, it makes sense to me now. I found the "low inductance output stage" thread... and while there seem to be discussion on a number of different techniques to accomplish the >6 FET designs, seems like the most straight forward is the one that Lebowski proposed, of simply building two of the 6...

Thierry, those are what I've been planning to use, just trying to figure out how to organize/wire a 12 FET (compared to the 6 FET example). Also need to figure out what I need to do with my fully populated board... whether I can leave it as is and just run it as a 12 FET or if I need to remove...

well, my point was, if I could setup a good test for them, would be interesting... I wouldn't mind spending $50+ to get a random sampling from a few sellers to see what I get. I pretty much get all my parts from arrow usually, which has comparable prices to the other major players, but has free...

Those IRFP4468's look interesting, never seen them before. A little large than the average TO-220, but damn good specs on those, and not too expensive. Can't say I trust them, but anyone have experience buying any of these kinds of FETs (IRFP4468, CSD19536, IRFB4110, etc) from China. Seems...

A 12 FET would probably be more than enough TBH, haha. If I go with a 12 FET, can I leave the components for the others on, or do I have to remove them.... ended up filling up the board for a 24, I suppose totally unnecessary.... but if it's OK to leave the board filled, but just run as a 12...

OK, good to know, will look into those. BTW I made an edit to my above post while you responded... trying to figure out the layout for the FETs for >6 FET setup (not the PCB, the FETs / aluminum block / phase output wires)

Great, good to know, and looks like I should be good then with these. I actually just pretty much finished populating the whole PCB... setup for an 18 FET... tempted to fill it up to a 24 FET considering I have all the parts I need, tho guessing it's overkill, tho maybe can't hurt. The only...

OK, so I got everything hooked up, I connected my battery and measured the 2 voltages. My 5V measures is 4.78, and my 15v measured is 13.92. Using the provided formulas my idea R_5V = 8,812.5 Ohm and R_15V = 8,333.3 Ohm. Sadly, on hand, the closest resistors I have are 10k. I figure fir the...

OK, took a few tries with the pickit, but looks like I finally got it successful (Had the wrong J1 jumper setting the first time I believe... then had to find a powered USB hub in order to supply the right voltage via the pickit 3 and the socket it comes with). It appears to have programmed and...

Got my Lebowski brains in the mail the other day, and the pickit 3 should be here either today or tomorrow... hopefully I can get this guy built in the next few days, sadly I don't currently have an enclosure for it, but if I get this working, I'll be very motivated to finding one that'll work...

Interesting, thanks for the info. I think I just need to pickup a pickit 3...sadly, considering I bought the TL866 specifically for this (well, the idea was to use it for this, but have a universal programmer for future use)... guess I should have been more careful when checking if the chip was...

I can't seem to figure out a way... I went through pretty much every line of code in the git repo for the linux version. I also tried fiddling with some of the values in the device definition. Sadly, other than a few minor insights I found in the available code... most of the values don't have...

Obviously programming the PIC is my primary concern right now... I'm somewhat stuck right now... for all I know it is actually programmed, tho the program had an error during verify (which I suppose doesn't mean the PIC wasn't programmed correctly.. tho isn't the best sign). One other...

So, did what I said above... made an entry for PIC12F617 by copying the PIC12F615 and editing the code_memory_size to '0x1000'.... and when trying to program, I get almost he same error... except (and to no surprise) instead of "incorrect file size 680 (needed 2048)"... I get "incorrect file...

I'll see if I can figure that out... BUT I have a feeling I will still get the same error from the hex file... I'm guessing the hex file needs to be '0 padded' or something like that, to match the file size. I could be wrong, but my gut says it's something like that. EDIT: I found the file...

So, I got the Power Supply portion of the original through hole board pretty much complete... BUT I still need to program the PIC12F617... Strange issue with e-scooter controller, and battery voltage

AS always, thank you for the advice/recommendations. Ha;f the problem is that I am doing the work on the battery and/or controller at my apartment.. while the rest of the scooter is at my friends place. You're probably right about there being an issue with one of the battery groups (or more)...
