    Crankset Upgrade

Here are some pictures to show the clearance. Puting washers in on the brake side won't help things.

    Crankset Upgrade

I upgraded to a 42/34/24 Crankset and a DRIFT MANIAC 7 Speed Freewheel 11-28T. I didn't see any other options availble to me for freewheels. However, the stack height is causing clearance issues. So unless I can find a freewheel with a smaller gear, that is the exact same Stack Height, the old...

    Crankset Upgrade

I don't understand your comment on replacing the back wheel. It's an Ebike. The motor IS the wheel. I can't just swap out the motor like that, and most Hub Motor's if not all, use a freewheel anyway.

    Crankset Upgrade

Looks like my best option is to just go with 11T freewheel and the max possible chain ring for my frame. Where do I get a good quality 7 speed 11T freewheel ?

    Crankset Upgrade

My Goal isn't necessary for speed. I have plenty of that. It's to extend my range, by reducing how much the motor needs to work. Thus using less power. I could go slower of course, but I like getting from A to B quickly vs slowly.

    Crankset Upgrade

Well I would hope so. The difference from a 75T front cog and a 11-34t back, vs 36T and 14 to whatever ( too lazy to check), is pretty big. I didn't even know a 75T existed. How did u even fit on your bike ?

    Crankset Upgrade

I guess I should of mentioned the motor is 1,000 watts. I can do about 32 mph, with only throttle. Trying to pedal past 20 mph is fruitless. My legs are going too fast.

    Crankset Upgrade

What would give me a bigger pedal power increase ? Going from 36T to 42T on the Chainring, or the 11T Freewheel. I could just do both.

    Crankset Upgrade

To me, the Crankset is everything. The chain rings, and arms. Looks like according to the site, it should support up to 3x: 42T. I don't necessarily need 3x, but I could just use for the larger main chain ring. I would never use the other 2 chain rings.

    Crankset Upgrade

I'm trying to figure out if I can put on a much larger crankset. I have a Trek Marlin 5 that has a Ebike Kit on it. The current Crankset has 36-22T with this Bottom bracket, which is also combined with the freewheel being 14-34T range. It makes pedal assist rather useless, as you have a higher...

    Motor Damage beyond 500 watts

The motor can peak to 1500 watts and I'm pretty sure it's not geared. It's just a Brushless Sealed Hub Motor.

    Motor Damage beyond 500 watts

Yeah they definitely cheaped out on bike parts. The forks rusted to the point they siezed up after just over a years use. I've thought about getting better spokes and nipples, and seeing if that helps. It's a 36 hole RIM, so this doesn't give me many options. Here are a couple I did find...

    Motor Damage beyond 500 watts

I'm passed the warranty period now. Any problem I have, I have to pay. The only problem I keep having is the spokes keep getting loose every 2-3 months. I'm thinking he doesn't want to help me with turning the bike into something with little more power.

    Motor Damage beyond 500 watts

I would like a bigger motor, something like 750 watt to have that little extra power. I just don't know if the motor would work with the display and such. The controller would also have to be replaced, and I don't know if it's the same size or would fit in the frame.

    Motor Damage beyond 500 watts

The LCD Screen does provide a temperature reading, and it's only off by 1-2 degrees Celsius. LCD says Motor is 21 and the room temp where the bike is stored is 22.5 - 23 roughly. I've never noticed the Motor @ a very high temperature. If the hill is a hard hill for the bike, I lower the pedal...

Bike isn't behaving quite the same

I made a new thread, for a different topic, but still related to the bike. I also included more info on the bike. https://endless-sphere.com/sphere/threads/motor-damage-beyond-500-watts.120040/

    Motor Damage beyond 500 watts

I was told by the Manager @ the store I bought the bike said the following about the motor, and the power consumption of it. : I'm always above 500 watts and I've never noticed a problem, and on hot days I don't push the bike. I keep it easy, and I generally don't go that far either. 10-15...

Bike isn't behaving quite the same

Here is a picture of the markings on the motor. The controller I don't have acess to as it's inside the frame. I believe there is a way to slide it out, by taking the battery out though.

Bike isn't behaving quite the same

The Motor is a 500 Watter 48V Hub Motor (that's all the informationI have on it), and yes I did have some short issues with the wires, due to them being exposed. However, they where taped up and waterproofed and bike worked fine after, with the odd glitch once in a while. Though the glitches...

Bike isn't behaving quite the same

I had to replace the Motor wire for my bike, but that didn't work. So the entire Motor was replaced. The bike does work normally for the most part, but I find after reaching about 40 kph, the motor starts throttling the power and it's quite the effort to get it to go past 43 kph on a flat...

    Rusting Front Suspension

Looks like I will be getting this one: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/203878060430?epid=21037885242&hash=item2f7814518e:g:O5wAAOSwMtdiOTrK As for the roter. I will take a look @ the MEC store and see what they have.

    Rusting Front Suspension

I want to upgrade to this fork, and also get a 220 rotor as well. Will see how big the back can hold as well. This is what I'm looking to get: https://www.sram.com/en/rockshox/models/fs-rcns-rl-d1

    Rusting Front Suspension

I can link the Bike itself, but there is no mention of the make or model of the front suspension. Aluminum Alloy Suspension /Travel:100mm/Lockout + Rebound Cartridge. https://www.teslica.com/purity-mountain-ebike-m1h.html

    Rusting Front Suspension

Would I be right or wrong to assume, it's not normal for a brand new front suspension to rust on the Stanchions. I've rode many bikes in the winter, and never had this problem before.

    Reduced Range

I'm told Overcharging is when the battery is @ 54.8v fully charged vs 54.6v. Very slight difference. As for leaving it on the charger, I would say the longest is 12 hours ? I typically don't have it on that long and I've gotten better at remembering the pack is on the charger. That being said...
