BBSHD Throttle not progressive, just on/off

Try using the throttle when not peddling. There is a problem when you use throttle while peddling where it goes immediately to full. But it works correctly when your crank isn't moving.

    Preventing BBSHD Removal

I would worry much more about losing my battery - hard to make a battery mount that can't be easily defeated. You need tools and time to remove the mid drive - the thief is more likely to steal the whole bike. Bike thief is going to carry something to cut your lock before he will carry tools...

    18650 RESISTANCE?

No way resistance should be that high. Should be in the mili-ohms. How are you measuring that? You can't use a regular ohm meter on any sort of battery cell.

    Hot batteries

If they got hot enough to smoke, I would replace that cell group!

Is it ok to charge a hot battery after a long ride at 5 amps?

Let it cool down to ambient before charging. Too cold is below freezing so don't put it in the freezer. :D

    Hub motor stopped working. Help!

That is quite a bit of mileage. I would say you probably are ready for a new motor. But it could also be the controller.

My ebike has died... help please ! (BBSHD kit)

Well it certainly won't turn on if the battery voltage is that low so the first thing to fix is the battery. You might be able to disassemble it and measure the individual cell voltages with your DVM. You either have some bad low voltage cells or the BMS is bad and not allowing the voltage to...

Should the motor winding be shorted to motor axle?

If you don't know exactly what you are doing, rewinding will not go well. Buy a new motor.

60 volts through a 48 volt brushless DC controller

Mixing battery types is never a good idea! I would not do that.

    amunition case fire case bags

Unfortunately, even if you contain the fire, the smoke damage to a house is a huge mess that is very expensive to clean up.

I saw a park ranger call out an e-bike rider on FL bike path.......

If it makes a big difference I would just remove my throttle since I never use it anyway.

    Parallel Battery packs

If you want to equalize two packs that are at slightly different voltages (SOC) you can hook them together with a resistor to limit the equalization current. For example, if there is only 1 Volt difference, a 1 ohm resistor would limit the current to 1 amp. Once the voltages are nearly equal...

NASCAR has announced it's going all-electric by 2021

I am sure we could have a racing series with electric vehicles but call me old fashioned - I like big V-8's with open headers!

Warning for those who bulk charge using bench power supply

A good BMS would prevent overcharging to a point of fire but at that high a voltage anything could fail. Chargers can fail which is why you should not leave a charging battery unattended unless it's in a fireproof area and you are nearby. The problem is that charging often takes a while so...

New 52v battery sat unused for two years...

Me - I would not risk it. It might be ok but no way would I pay $600 for it.

Arduino 0-5v in to 0-5v out Throttle Interface

You could probably get away without the DAC if you use a PWM pin and a simple Low Pass Filter on it. It depends on the impedance of the circuit you are connecting the throttle to since the LPF will have a much higher output impedance than the DAC. Just a thought.

    How to recycle old Lipos?

Places like Home Depot will take them - at least smaller ones. Make sure that you fully discharge the before disposing of them. I use a halogen headlight bulb if the pack is 12V or less.

    DIY Solid State Relay

Many SSR's can only handle their amp rating if mounted on a heatsink. You need to read the data sheet of the SSR to find out the whole story on current handling. I've been there trying to size one to handle the safety Hi voltage cutoff on my charging system on my golf cart. The charger puts...

    DIY Solid State Relay

If your load is at all inductive - and it will be - you should have a snubber and a flyback diode in your design or the FET won't last very long. You will spike the voltage on turn-off. Commercial SSR's have a bunch of circuitry in them - which does drive up the cost.

How do I recycle leaf batteries?

You should fully discharge them before disposing. I use a 12V Headlight bulb. Discharge one module at a time. Outdoors - I use a bucket of sand. They may get hot. After fully discharged, they are much safer to handle and dispose of. Not sure if they will take them but Home Depot and I...

    BBHD Bafang Motor and Battery

How would we know if the battery would fit. You did not say what bike you have. All frames are different. Yes - you should be able to limit top speed in the FW programming. Print out a template for the battery and test fit it in your frame.
