Has there been another firmware release that works better?

New "Lingbei MM28.250 torque sensor mid drive"

Has anyone heard if the manufacturer is going to improve their firmware once again?

I'm seeing a 57Hz sine wave(are you in the US?). Are you sure you grounded the signal? The signal shouldn't be so sensitive to external influences. Trying to see a torque sensor signal on the bench like this will be very difficult as you can't apply much torque.

Nice! Can that fluke meter measure 2 channels? I expect a VCC 5V, GND, and 2 pulse trains.

New "Lingbei MM28.250 torque sensor mid drive"

If I remember correctly, the 5 pin is for the HAL sensors of the motor(VCC, GND, 3x output) and the 4 pin is for the torque/PAS sensor. So you want the 4-pin connector wires to the outside for measurements.

Thanks for the firmware eyebyesickle! However, after reading the report I'm not too sure about updating my V1 motor. What's your opinion on it eyebye? Is it better for V1 motors than the original flash? Did you find the locations in the hex where they stored the settings?

New "Lingbei MM28.250 torque sensor mid drive"

Did they tell you if the firmware can be used for the first released models with 6 MOSFET's?

New "Lingbei MM28.250 torque sensor mid drive"

I wonder if the original motors can be upgraded as well or if the hardware is significantly different that we have to buy a new controller.. some of us were beta testers in the end..

Any update on this topic? Is the new firmware ready?

New "Lingbei MM28.250 torque sensor mid drive"

Damn, I think that the Yamaha PW motor I also have isn't torque sensor based when it has to follow your description! It doesn't start to spin when I apply torque on the pedals but don't rotate them, so it has to be pure PAS, right? No of course not. These controllers use BOTH PAS and torque...

New "Lingbei MM28.250 torque sensor mid drive"

It is a pretty basic but advanced way to measure torque. It's used in high tech industry for turbines as well, although they have more ways to do it nowadays. Using strain gauses is the primitive way to measure.. But yeah, the technique has been around since the '50's. Measuring torque with...

New "Lingbei MM28.250 torque sensor mid drive"

Some clarification pictures below. If what I'm thinking is actually true(hard to see some details on the pictures), they use two rings of magnets and measure a phase shift between the two HALL sensors that respond to magnets in the rings. When they are in sync(hence the alignment) it means...

New "Lingbei MM28.250 torque sensor mid drive"

It would be interesting to remove the circuit board, remove it's silicone coating and make clear pictures. This should give us the answer. Measuring it on an oscilloscope would be nice as well. There are many methods to measure torque for eBikes. Tongsheng uses only one of them. Interesting...

New "Lingbei MM28.250 torque sensor mid drive"

Can you share it? I have run the cables to the outside so I can program it easily. I asked the seller and she told me that it wasn't perfect and she didn't want to give it for that reason as they are waiting for a hardware upgrade combined with improved torque sensing. That makes me think that...

New "Lingbei MM28.250 torque sensor mid drive"

There are 63V rated caps inside so I would say no. However, they are working on a new controller, so there is a possibility it will be with the new electronics!

New "Lingbei MM28.250 torque sensor mid drive"

I got informed that two new firmware versions are being tested right now and the torque sensing was much more evident this time but not as smooth as the original released firmware. They also told me that the electronics will go from 6 to 9 mosfets allowing higher currents. By the way, sorry to...

New "Lingbei MM28.250 torque sensor mid drive"

Correct. SHC220 is what I could get. SHC100 is fine too and used in many bafang motors. I haven't noticed any efficiency issues. But it runs better than with the original grease(I replaced the motor so had to re-grease everything).

New "Lingbei MM28.250 torque sensor mid drive"

They have not released an update yet unfortunately. I have a programming cable and modified motor ready for testing as soon as it is released. For the C600 display, I discovered that setting the speed limit has not influence on the maximum support limit. If I set it to 25km/hr it still supports...

New "Lingbei MM28.250 torque sensor mid drive"

I got the motor today! I can confirm they changed the magnets and also the PCB that holds the hall sensors for the BLDC motor is upgraded. As I had the whole motor open anyway, I drilled a hole for a small 4 wire programming cable, not big deal. Now it's easy to access from the outside. Took...

New "Lingbei MM28.250 torque sensor mid drive"

New programming as in new firmware or as in programmable by user without opening the motor? Can you share the 20A firmware? I'd like to flash it in mine.

New "Lingbei MM28.250 torque sensor mid drive"

On my bike, the motor goes 40km/hr on a flat road using only the throttle without pedaling. When I start pedaling it just adds it to the 40km/hr. I have not tried pedaling really hard on a steep hill. I find it too scary to go faster than 45km/hr.. Flashing the firmware without cracking the...

New "Lingbei MM28.250 torque sensor mid drive"

They are going to release several firmware versions in the coming weeks with different Torque/Cadence ratios for us to try. So we can have a try which works best. We're still pushing the manufacturer to release code(maybe under NDA) so we can enable programming settings over the existing cables...

New "Lingbei MM28.250 torque sensor mid drive"

Yep, that's the tongsheng. It's a fine motor! But not a lingbei. Just contact them about customs. They're happy to help you. Yes, they have a free tax free route.

New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

..which are? Energy efficiency difference is almost non-existent. The type of grease will probably have more impact. Noise wise, helical gears are more quiet. Helical gears have higher tooth strength and can handle load better. Spur gears are mostly used in racing gear boxes but that has other...
