Can I switch between those two and if so, what do I need to buy?

I bought an anti theft skewer to change from a quick release I had on my front wheel, thinking everything was standard 5mm, but upon removing my front quick release, the shaft of it is 9mm diameter... Can I buy like a hollow adapter to use my anti theft skewer? Also, if I buy such adapter, is...

Can I use a rear motor hub with 7 cogs on a mountain bike frame with 27 speeds?

Will this work or fit? The original non motorized wheel has 9 cogs and the appropriate shifter on the handlebar. What are my options? If I don't care about losing gears, can I just adjust the end on the derailleur? If I wanted to retain 27 speeds, can I put the 9 cogs on the new motor hub? Can...

Switching twist throttle to a thumb throttle: please help with different color wiring

My hub kit originally came with a twist throttle, it has an on/off button and a three color led charge indicator. It came with a 6 pin connector color coded black, red, white, yellow, brown, green, in that order. (Btw, shouldn't it be only 5 wires for those functions, I thought 6 wires were for...

Quick question for anyone with a Luna cycles advanced charger 48v

On a 48v battery, what is the resting voltage of your battery after you have charged it with the 90% toggle switch? How about with the 80% toggle switch? I am trying to find out what voltage threshold they set those values at. I have a rough idea of what a 90% and a 80% charge should be at, but...

Need quick answer: rear hub motor wire should exit facing up or down?

I'm installing my rear wheel and I'm not sure which way is safer or recommended. The axle thread has a slit in it which I can orient up or down to let the motor wire curve and exit in that direction. In terms of safety/waterproofing/etc, which way should I curve the wire, up or down?

Questions about installing an LED voltmeter between my battery and its charger

I was looking to hook up a little LED display voltmeter on my battery to monitor voltage as it charges, and also as I use it. I was thinking the most convenient place to wire it would be on the charging connector, so it can always stay attached to the battery, even when I remove it from its...

This is my first ebike conversion and I'm very worried about my battery. I received my battery/charger yesterday and before installing it on the bike, I wanted to make sure all fit and worked perfectly. Where should the frame go between those washers and nut?

Please help! I've read the manual of my ebike kit, asked a bike guy and my local bike shop, and all three have different opinions on this, and since I want a definite safe answer, I'm asking the forums. I've attached a picture. Let's label those guys, from left to right, nut is "1", washer is "...

Is there such a thing as a wattmeter/ammeter with a sound voltage alarm?

I've been trying to find an all in one meter for my ebike that would give me voltage, amp draw and a user selectable voltage sound alarm for low and high voltage, but I can't seem to find such a thing... The only meters with sound/buzzer voltage alarm that I've found just measure voltage, and...

How recommended is it to put a fuse between the battery and controller?

This is going to be my first ebike, a 1000W 48V rear hub motor. My battery is going to be a Li-ion 13s5p 17.5AH. My controller states a "maximum rated current" of 30A. Do I really need a fuse between the battery and controller? Is it in the "nice but not really needed" category or is it widely...
