Is there a need for 2 torque arms

The front fork should be steel w/ a front hub motor. I don't know whether fork suspension vs solid fork matters. A second torque arm adds more steel. It might give peace of mind.

    Growing pain with ebikes.

The problem with some lithium batts seems charging or discharging related. overcharging and over-discharging. So the charger quality and supervision is paramount. I'm using Amercian made LG brand INS and keep it between 48 and 53 v on a 14s pack.

Hey! I've built a dirtbike using Votol em200 2sp + qs138 90h motor. Finally, after almost a year I've finished the conversion. I'm running the default

I don't have much experience tweaking but I can say that many motors do not live up to what the manufacturers/vendors claim. The same is true of battery packs and controllers. These things can be over hyped. The same with car tires and many other products. Is the motor bike extra heavy?

Was working made a u-turn and now it doesn't

I've had battery packs cut out and all I did is unplug power and reboot. This could be a sign of a low amp bms or riding it too hard for too long. Some of those Chinese packs (and USA packs) work OK but don't live up to their rated AH claims.

    BMS replacement questions

Not true in this case. He sells these 14s with or without BMS. I asked him about it and he suggested that you can get by without it if you don't deep discharge etc. It depends on your usage. These cells are made in USA , maybe San Diego. Green Horizon. Vendor has 100%

    YESCOM 1500w Motor Problem

I got about the same speed with a lifepo4 pack @ 52.8v. But my kit is called a 1500 W 48V. I don't think buying a 52 v lithium ion will change that even if it is a 25 or 30 ah pack. My life packs are 20ah and 12 ah. 12 ah cuts out if running fast and far

    BMS replacement questions

What happens if you remove or disconnect BMS and just run it? Will it charge up almost balanced then? I say that because a bms may cost more than older pack is worth. And bms swap may fail.

    48v 1000w Motor with 60v 20ah battery.

I've never had overheating problems with overvolted brushless motors. It did happen with an old brushed motor- a magnet got loose and brushes worn down quickly. So from 36v to 48 or 48v to 60 is not that much, but your controller must be compatible. A rough guide would be to set it up and feel...

    YESCOM 1500w Motor Problem

You guys got a ton of snow from what I saw on the news today. Anyways, the Yescom customer service was pretty good to me and answered several questions, but the noise your motor makes seems normal to me. I've owned 3 brushless motors and they all make noise when accelerating.

    YESCOM 1500w Motor Problem

Will it run faster with halls disconnected? If your bike goes 30 mph or more I doubt it is the bearings. You should hear bad bearings by pedaling with motor off

    YESCOM 1500w Motor Problem

I have a Yescom 48 v 1500 watt that's 3 weeks old. It does make motor sound mostly at lower speeds when throttling hard or suddenly, I guess. This rear wheel kit is awesome and has put the fun back in ebiking when compared to my front hub which is like steering a stagecoach, lawnmower or...

36v motor overvolted to 48v needs what sized controller?

I have older kit and it runs goes almost 28 mph (then motor stutters) with smaller cheap controller. With another higher amp controller it stutters at 30.5. So controller capacity makes a difference. You want to make sure you don't fry controller due to overvolting. I didn't see anything about...

Switched to a Sinewave controller and top speed went down?

What I recall reading is that you get a smooth constant flow with sinewave. The sq-wave pumps out in hard impulses to create a constant flow. This interruption might account for waste but those impulses are harder. Perhaps the sine wave smooth flow is slow-efficient push but not as ample or...

    Dual Wheel Ebike Build

I have 2 front hub kits and 1 new rear hub kit, and there is no comparison between rear and front. Front hub riding at speed is like a chore; the rear kit has brought back the fun in ebiking. You could sell the front once you're set up. Using a 48 v battery on a 36 v controller may work for a...

    Car starter motor

Treadmill motors weight about 25 to 30 lbs. The one I replaced brushes on says 130 V DC, 2.5 HP. It looks like more work, weight and costs using a treadmill motor than just buying a used hub.

Post the ebike law in your area. Here is Florida

I'm not getting an MC license to ride on trails and neighborhood streets. I merely cross big streets. I agree that lobbying plays a part and the results are often unreasonable. Still police hardly care in my community as long as you seem practical. Of course, they might chase down someone going...

Post the ebike law in your area. Here is Florida

I have a smaller controller that keeps it just under 28 mph. Cars can go much faster than 65, so the burden is on drivers to stay close to the posted limits. Seems unrealistic to require a mc license for something that can't go on I-95 or Turnpike.

Post the ebike law in your area. Here is Florida

I'm in Fla. and my bike with kit can reach 30 mph without pedaling. I don't usually go that fast. So I have a class 3 type vehicle which is like a gas moped or more. Class 1 is 20 mph or less. I do have personal and car bodily insurance as well as a drivers license but no bike registration...

Bafang 500W Rear Hub Drive Cassette Size for 10x135 Dropout

ok. The C washers I use are open ended like a C shape, about 2 or 3 mm flat. Bought 4 from the real Ebike company. I'm interested in the Yescom 1500 watt kit. It doesn't have PAS or computer screen, but the controller can go sensorless or with hall sensors. And a good price. I currently use...
