Help to find right battery pack

If you can get LIPO and find a way to use them safely, I'd go with LIPO. I wish I would have gone with them. They are much more convenient in every way.

    Requesting Sanity Check Before Buying

so you want to eliminate your car and commute by e-bike and your wife is putting you on a $600 limit? WTF. Doesn't she realize how much money you are going to save almost regardless of how much an e-bike costs? Even if you spent $2000, the e-bike would pay for itself after the first year...

    My ass hurts

Picking a bike seat is kind of counter-intuitive. For example, some might pick up a seat and squeeze the middle and since it is soft, they think "oh, what a great seat" but that's actually not true at all. For a man, especially, you don't want a seat that is really soft in the middle...

    New Crystalites...a game changer?

Lipo is the way to go on batteries but they need to be safer I think. I don't know if the bike thing will ever truely catch on in the midwest. It rains like everyday here. It's ridiculous. I can't imagine people riding a bike in the rain. I'm sorry but it's not going to be e-bicycles...

Time to Buy a New Computer. Want fast and reliable.

I just cleaned out my heatsink and cpu fan. I don't think that was the problem though because it's the same temperature now as it was before I cleaned it. Hey, is it possible to lose RAM ? I think I started with 1 GB and now it says 894 mb so maybe it's corrupted memory? I'm pretty sure...

    Antivirus Software

you don't need to register Avast ...do a search on youtube for Avast registration key...I found a key on a video that still works !!!! hahaha. Didn't even have to give them my e-mail address. Ok, what I don't understand is how come no one has written an open source anti-virus program yet...

    Antivirus Software

I hated AVG. I got Avast now and I'm happy. The thing with Avast is that it only use 2 processes and I think AVG had like 6 processes going. you can turn Avast off in the system tray and never even realize that you have an anti-virus running which is what I like. I never even know it's there.

Time to Buy a New Computer. Want fast and reliable.

my computer sometimes will just shut down now for no reason. I'll click to shut a program off and it will just shut down. Anyone know why it does that? It only happens about once a month. I re-installed windows and it's still happening.

Time to Buy a New Computer. Want fast and reliable.

I'll build you one !! lol. Those AMD Athlon II X2 245 CPUs are very fast. I always go AMD Athlon these days....those things are cheap and fast. They rival Intel now on speed I think. I could have built you an AMD Athlon with same stuff probably for half the price.

    Great Lipo backpack

design a slide on, slide off mechanism for the LIPO. This can be done with the Topeak website. If you got some kind of small box and screwed this Fixer 6 on it....it will make a slide on and off mechanism for your LIPO. All you do is push the button and slide it off whenever you get to...

Help a guy build his first e-bike.

you won't want to take the motor hub back off once you get it on. It's a bigger pain installing it than you probably realize. It can be done in an hour or so but the hubs are heavy and those dropouts aren't really designed for e-bikes so you don't want to be moving the hub motor in and out...

Help a guy build his first e-bike.

the bike you chose is more like a racing bike. Have you thought about adding a smaller motor and putting on some lipo...keeping the weight light and having a very fast bike that you can still pedal easily? There are other guys who have gone that route. The small motors are ones like bafang...

can someone comment on this combination battery and motor?

The Ping's are only good for 1C unless they've improved their chemistry. You might go with a 48v15AH ping just to be sure. If you got a garage or some way to store them, I think LIPO is the way to go these days. Lots of people complaining about ping batteries on the forums.

youtube adsense.. worth it or not ?

    There's guys on youtube making $300,000/yr . It's sick.

I love those Ping Pong Lifepo4 packs. lol

    New Ping battery cuts out

Someone else on here complained that the ping batteries do not like to be shaken or bumped so those rough roads can sometimes kill a ping battery. Someone on here damaged their ping that way (so he said) and he switched to LIPO. It was Nomad85 that said that I think.

What is the best hub motor?

oh yeah, 1800W will be good. I'm running at about 1260w and it's good. 1800w still probably won't climb really steep hills though but it will climb reasonable ones. If you went with LIPO, you could probably get more voltage on it. Like 100v . Make a 100v 10AH pack and that would be more...

My controller has died, less than a week Need new one NOW

Go lower voltage. I've been using 36v on mine and haven't had any thing break on me and I'm using an X5. It's a bit slow but it's still faster than probably 70 % of e-bikes out there.

    Mixing Thundersky and GBS batteries...

My Thundersky batteries don't have the top logo cap either. I think the GBS cells are white. The GBS cells are damn good. They are rated like 3C are something.

Can someone recommend a cheap, safe, 48-volt SLA charger?

This is the exact one that I bought. I guess it's not really cheap. Do you live in Indiana? I'll sell it to you for $25. I don't use it anymore. It's barely used. I probably put about 50 cycles on it at the most. It has alligator clips on the end...

Why do so many people buy e-bikes off ebay?

My crystalyte hub and connectors seem pretty good. Looks quality to me. I got mine made at ebikes.ca.

Why do so many people buy e-bikes off ebay?

That could be true. Be upfront with how much it will cost, maybe some will go for it and then you've gained a customer.

Why do so many people buy e-bikes off ebay?

There's one thing I just can't bring myself to do. I can run over raccoons with my car. I can do some bad things but one thing I can't do is rain on another man's parade after he's bought an e-bike. It usually goes something like this, "hey guys, I just bought this awesome e-bike on ebay...

Why do so many people buy e-bikes off ebay?

It must be 90% of the ebikes are bought off ebay. And they always think they are getting a great deal. Everytime I see someone who bought one of those I just cringe. Is anyone here pro-ebay ebikes? Is everyone against buying on ebay?

This seems awfully cheap for a complete motor kit. Legit?

wow. What a deal. I feel like I got ripped off now that I see his prices. I paid $ 750 just for my motor and controller. That means you can put together a decent e-bike with motor, controller, and lifepo4 batteries for $150 -- motor and controller and kit $390 - 36v20AH Thundersky LIFEPO4...
