Can't shift to lowest gear with Bafang mid-drive motor installed

I really appreciate all the responses. I've discounted the chain-too-short solution as the original front sprocket was 48 teeth, and the new Bafang one is 44 teeth. However the right crankarm (and sprocket) is indeed displaced a few mm further out than on the BM (before Motor) bike, so I think...

Can't shift to lowest gear with Bafang mid-drive motor installed

I have a Bafang BBS02 mid-drive motor installed on my Cannondale Quick 4 hybrid with 9-speed cassette and Shimano shifter. It works really well, EXCEPT the the shifter cannot raise the chain to the largest (lowest gear) rear sprocket. The drive sprocket is the standard 44-tooth one that was...

    Hub Motor Brake Cutoff

Met two people today with new bikes (ordered online) with hub motors. They claimed that they had to remember to power down before stopping, and that there was no power cutoff when braking. I have a mid drive with power cutoff on braking and gear changing. Is it normal to not have a brake sensor...

Bikes compatible with Bafang BBS02 motor

SUCCESS Getting my BBS02 installed on my Cannondale Quick 4 today. It is a BSA bottom bracket alright, but the bolts holding the cable guide under the BB protruded in just a little bit, and also the inside was not to tolerence and had to be gound out a bit before the motor shaft would fit in...

Bikes compatible with Bafang BBS02 motor

Style Preferences for mounting a BBS02 motor: This bike is for use on streets and pathways, not for bushwacking, jumping etc. I also want to be able to still pedal home if the battery runs out. The battery I bought is a 48v 17.5ah 30a BMS in a Hailong Pack. I think that should be enouth for the...

Responding to various comments above... Just what is wrong wit a Norco. I thought they were considered a good brand. Note I am looking at buying a Norco Vermont 21 spd second hand. Here is a post on installing a BBS02 on a Norco Hybrid...

Bikes compatible with Bafang BBS02 motor

Still looking for a bike to mount my BBS02 on. What about a Norco Vermont 21 speed. Here are the specs https://99spokes.com/en-CA/bikes/norco/2009/vermont I think it has to be this vintage because later versions appear to be 24 speed.

Bikes compatible with Bafang BBS02 motor

Looking at these two bikes as possible hosts for by Bfang BBS02 Mid drive: Norco Bush Pilot Bottom Bracket FSA BB-7420ST Cartridge and A Gary Ficher Advance. I can't find anything about the Bottom Bracket. Any advice as to whether either of these bikes would work.

Bikes compatible with Bafang BBS02 motor

Thx. I did try to amount the BBS02 on my Cannondale hybrid road bike, but the BB "socket" was slightly too small to accept the 33.5mm spindle of the motor. I think these Cannondale specs may explain it. https://wheelsmfg.com/bb30a-tech-info Hope I have better luck with the Kuwahara.

Bikes compatible with Bafang BBS02 motor

I have a Kuwahara Eclipse mountain bike. Will the BBS02 spindle fit the bottom bracket on this bike? I have gleaned this info from the link below. "Bafang BBSxx motors have a bottom bracket shaft diameter of 33.5 mm and are designed to fit into the bicycle bottom bracket standard known as JIS or...
