Hall Plug has 12 Wire not 5 or 6

I think that plug incorporates the wiring for the 3 speed switch, so you will need to trace the wires to see where they go.

Difficulty in dismantling ebike front hub motor

I believe the side cover is threaded and you will need to fabricate a tool to use the three screw holes to unscrew it. There are some YouTube videos floating around of how to do this.

Unrecognized error in 72150 when applying brake

Has your yellow wire got a label on that says either high brake or low brake? Different suppliers of these controllers have different wiring configurations. My Sabvoton for example only has low brake inputs and no provision for high brake. So you can’t always follow the wiring colour codes on...

Unrecognized error in 72150 when applying brake

Isn’t the yellow wire on the Sabvoton high brake, where it needs 12 volts to activate it? From what you are saying you are trying to use it as low brake and applying 0v to it, which may be causing the unrecognised fault.

    Problem with PAS

That’s what happens when there is a faulty brake switch, which is why we are suggesting you disconnect both brake switches.

    Problem with PAS

Look at you brake levers and trace the wire down until you find a small plug. Then unplug both sides. This will remove the brake switches to eliminate them while you are fault finding your pas problem. Your initial post suggests this could be the problem.

MXUS 3k-V3 Temp Sensor info? Expected readings?

I had a similar problem on my QS205, so I replaced the KTY83 with a NTC 10k so I could connect it to a readily available temperature meter.

    Problem with PAS

“then I discovered sometimes it turns off after I use brakes” Does your bike have brake switches? If so it would be a good idea to disconnect them when you are diagnosing the problem.

KT controller, noisy motor, throttle turning off periodically. Compability issue or?

His Dongwan controller was 17amps and his new KT controller is 10amps and it’s probably stuck in PAS 1 so the motor won’t perform too well until he can get the display configured properly. The advantage of using a good display is that he can see how much power is being drawn off load. If it’s...

KT controller, noisy motor, throttle turning off periodically. Compability issue or?

KTLCD 03 display will work well or if you are feeling flush with money the KTLCD 08 is very nice. You can use either of those displays to configure your LED displays if you want to keep your cockpit simple. But you will need to make or buy a special link cable. A couple of the cheaper KTLCD...

KT controller, noisy motor, throttle turning off periodically. Compability issue or?

I think when you are bypassing the display the controller is stuck in PAS 1 which is limiting the power even when you are using the throttle.

KT controller, noisy motor, throttle turning off periodically. Compability issue or?

I think your problem is that you are using a KT LED display. These displays are very basic and only the P paramters can be set up on them. You can’t set any of the C parameters. To configure them properly a KT LCD display is needed with all of the correct parameters set up and then it needs to...

Unrecognized error in 72150 when applying brake

Did you change the brake light led recently? Some of the cheaper LEDs can cause faults like this and need an additional blocking diode fitted. It would be worth disconnecting the brake light and testing again to see if the fault disappears. I had a fault recently using cheap LEDs where the...

Decathlon hub motor with no limit controller

There are a couple of things that you need to check first. If you have a canbus system then you will need to make sure the battery will work with your new controller. Some of these e-bikes have a canbus interface between the battery and controller which means the battery won’t provide power to...

    Modding moped style ebike

I am working on a Puch Maxi using a QS205 and I‘m using a 203mm bicycle disc brake for the rear. I have seen plenty of 220mm bicycle disc brakes for sale. There isn’t really enough room to mount a motorcycle disc brake on mine with a pcd adaptor plate because the cable exit from the motor is...

Double pole or single pole breaker

It depends upon how much room you have and some would say don’t even bother with one. Remember that the job of a breaker is just to protect the wiring to prevent it from catching fire. I fitted a double pole breaker mounted on a din rail and it takes up a lot of space. This one is a 125 amp...

    Domino throttle wiring

You can use it in a couple of different ways, or just leave it disconnected. You could wire it to your brake switch connector on the controller to cut the motor on zero throttle or use it for regenerative braking if that takes your fancy, if your system supports regen. I don’t like regen...

UK gov' consultation to allow higher power ebikes and throttles

UK law puts a limit on continuous rated motor power at 250 watts. There is no limit on peak power otherwise everybody would have to get off and push their bikes up hills. So it has nothing to do with what the controller and battery can deliver to the motor. The motor needs to have a 250 watt...

Need help! Any advice is appreciated.

I have a QS205 and my hall sensors are SS41 bipolar. Because they are bipolar, when they are triggered they stay on until the magnetic field changes direction and then switch off. Looking at your video, one of your hall sensors doesn’t seem to latch on. Each set on mine is wired to a separate...
