If you want to pay less and don’t mind ordering from China you can get what you need from here. https://www.topbikekit.com/controller-c-69.html?page=4&sort=20a&zenid=4u3ehsio073b4l9c199rec1d03

I have that controller and display installed on this bike and I can get 30mph flat out because of the big wheels. I had to oil cool the motor to stop it from overheating.

I don’t know how your controller can be switched on without either a display or a bypass plug. And even with a bypass plug you won’t be able to change the pas levels, so you will be very limited on power.

The red and black is possibly for lights. Here is a link on Amazon to a controller the same as yours, with a photo (2nd photo) of where the connectors go. There should be a bypass plug on your display connector if you are running without a display, otherwise the controller won’t switch on. It...

Another reason why you controller doesn’t work is that you may have a phase mismatch. Blue doesn’t necessarily go to blue and neither does yellow necessarily go to yellow nor the green. But to check that you will need to research how to swap phases.

If you are going to replace the controller you should get a decent one with a good display. That’s why I suggested KT because they are reliable, aren’t expensive and easy to configure. There are many other good controllers, some are very expensive and not necessary for either of your motors...

It could be a connection problem, or maybe a mosfet problem inside the controller. One way is to do some more testing to find out what’s going on and another way is to replace parts until it works. Do you have a display connected to the controller. If so does it show any error codes?

You should do some testing to find out why it’s not working before spending any more money. Grin has put together some nice instructions for troubleshooting an e-bike. Here are a couple of links. Main page https://ebikes.ca/learn/troubleshooting.html Hall sensor test...

It’s probably not safe to run the rear motor above 1000 watts. I do not recognise either motor. I have fitted temperature sensors to a couple of my motors. They can get very hot, very quickly when they are run at high power, especially if you are climbing hills. I have also oil cooled my...

Both of those suppliers I linked to sell KT controllers. Your battery is good for 1500 watts. 2000 watts is pushing it too hard. You also need to know how much power your motors will take without overheating.

You will be better off using a KT controller and make sure it’s not too big for your battery and motors. The controller you linked to is 40 amps. Can your battery deliver that much current? And can your motors run at 2kW without overheating?

I have purchased stuff from both of these suppliers and they both delivered promptly. They are more expensive than ordering direct from China, but if you want a UK supplier then these two are as good as any. https://thelayerlaboratory.co.uk/collections/torquetech...

Potentially damaged QS205 motor - opened it, what to look for?

Have you tried it with the brake caliper removed?

It could be a loose wheel spoke.

WHAT REPLACEMENT DISPLAY DO I NEED

Yeah, the OP can find the same display, but plug compatibility is his problem. None that he can find have the same old fashioned Julet flat bottomed 6 pin connector. The bike needs a new battery anyway, so maybe it’s time for a full refurbishment using a KT controller and a 48 volt battery.

WHAT REPLACEMENT DISPLAY DO I NEED

He has posted a photo of the controller. It’s the middle photo. It is an HDK301R3X controller, manufactured in 2013. I have never seen one like this before. I think it’s time to upgrade to something more modern.

    Buying bike for qs205

A QS205 will rip that frame to shreds if you could stretch the swing arm enough for it to fit. And get the chain aligned properly. And if you could find somewhere to mount the battery and controller. Also what do you intend to do about the rear brake?

QS205 metallic noise between 66-69kph freewheeling.

I use a 4” 3 jaw puller, but it’s fiddly and I have to use cable ties to keep the jaws together. I think a 2 jaw puller would be easier. I have also replaced the KTY 83 temperature sensor with an NTC 10K so I can keep an eye on motor temperature. It isn‘t difficult to overheat these motors if...

Hall Plug has 12 Wire not 5 or 6

I think that plug incorporates the wiring for the 3 speed switch, so you will need to trace the wires to see where they go.

Difficulty in dismantling ebike front hub motor

I believe the side cover is threaded and you will need to fabricate a tool to use the three screw holes to unscrew it. There are some YouTube videos floating around of how to do this.

Unrecognized error in 72150 when applying brake

Has your yellow wire got a label on that says either high brake or low brake? Different suppliers of these controllers have different wiring configurations. My Sabvoton for example only has low brake inputs and no provision for high brake. So you can’t always follow the wiring colour codes on...

Unrecognized error in 72150 when applying brake

Isn’t the yellow wire on the Sabvoton high brake, where it needs 12 volts to activate it? From what you are saying you are trying to use it as low brake and applying 0v to it, which may be causing the unrecognised fault.

    Problem with PAS

That’s what happens when there is a faulty brake switch, which is why we are suggesting you disconnect both brake switches.

    Problem with PAS

Look at you brake levers and trace the wire down until you find a small plug. Then unplug both sides. This will remove the brake switches to eliminate them while you are fault finding your pas problem. Your initial post suggests this could be the problem.

MXUS 3k-V3 Temp Sensor info? Expected readings?

I had a similar problem on my QS205, so I replaced the KTY83 with a NTC 10k so I could connect it to a readily available temperature meter.
