Hi,
After 8 months of trouble free and great fun on my downhill bike with only a 48v 15ah 2C battery I plan to upgrade my battery's over the winter,

Parts for upgrade are:
1. Agniusm 18s A123 Battery Pack Kit
2. 24 x A123 packs from ONS Power (6 spare)
3. Founding Power BMS (LY.UCS-BMS Updated) http://www.foundingpower.com/en/Products/Smart_BMS/2012090695.html
With oled display
4. 12X4110 MOSFET EXSTREME MODDER CONTROLLER LYEN EDITION (to replace my 6 FET mini monster)

My 2 questions are:
1. Should I buy some sort of RC lipo charger balancer to keep the battery's in good condition until the kit is fully assembled
2. I have seen 2 chargers and would like to know your opinions:

http://www.bmsbattery.com/alloy-shell/27-alloy-shell-600w-lifepo4li-ionlead-acid-battery-ebike-charger.html

Thanks

Mark

There has been variable customer service from BMS battery.. I have had nothing but brilliant service from them, although shipping can be a little high.

I have 3 of their chargers now, all work fine, but again, some have failed ...but I would go with them but others would not

I have a 2kW a 600 and a 300W ..all work just fine and far less hassle than converting a Meanwell

Thought I would document my build just incase it helps someone else:

Also a massive thank you to Agniusm for all his help as im a real noob.

I recieved my A123 batterys from ONSPower which probably were over priced at $30 each, They are full tabs and made in the USA:

Recieved BMS from Founding Power about $120

Next I used Agniusm's 18s battery kit (Nice) and mounted the BMS on the top plate, Its a shame the bms is a fraction wider than the battery kit.

Next the wiring between the BMS and Agniusms Kit:

at the moment the alam on the bms board sounds showing a low voltage so until my charger comes may not be able to update this thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mark, i seen some holes on the front cover, did you tried to mount BMS other way? That way it should fit just perfect in between main terminals. Perhaps too late as you trimmed those balance wires :(

Have you checked individual cell voltages? What are they? Just wander why that BMS alarm goes off. Usually ONS cells comes at 3.29-3.30V and it should't trip the alarm. What are the voltages set on BMS? Do cells comes up correctly on software, monitor window?

Yes I was going to mount it the other way but there is such a load of wire I just thought it all came a bit close t one of the battery terminals, the wiring is just neater in this orientation

Yes all the cells range from 3.27 to 3.29

All the snap shots of the software are here:

Any news about battery and BMS?Looking forward to more pics.

I am just looking at what case to put it in and a finish of the wiring.

Still waiting for the company BMS battery to dispatch the charger, it's been a week now still in the testing phase (really).

Will post more pics soon
