Mongoose at 36v

Hi, this is my first post here. I've seen several references to upgrading the Wal*Mart Mongoose to 36 volts, but I've been unsuccessful in finding any details. Help?

One of our esteemed members, Reid Welch extensively documented his testing and posted it on the forum that got hacked.

A few posts were saved as a "proof-of-concept" for people to use if they wanted to save good info at Voltage.

The "printable view" tool at Voltage was used to copy and paste the entire thread at google.

The thread was quite long, so images were not inserted inline, but linked-to instead.

You could just get a replacement 36 volt motor from Currie if you don't want the speed.
 
Actually, I'd want higher speed, same range. I'm only interested in an e-bike as a commuter. Commute is 13mi one way.
