Oh, now I understand. The shorter Sempu T4 in your picture has a retaining ring to hold the bearings in place. My 100/175mm version doesn't, so the bearings are indeed press fit.
So, after inspecting the BB, a plastic ring around the PCB is cracked and at least two very small wires behind the PCB are loose.
My guess is that one of the wires gradually became loose and that was the reason my ebike had very erratic motor behaviour. The crack in the PCB housing might have come from me hammering the spindle. Anyway, I'm ditching this torque sensor and going to the traditional cadence style because I only do commuting, not mountain biking.
