I have just built a 16S 10A battery pack with Headway 38210 cells.

I have put this BMS on it: http://www.evassemble.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=6&products_id=211

Now, when I wire up the whole battery, and plug in the BMS, I get a red light in the BMS itself (see photo).

But I can't find any explanation of what this means? Does anyone know what this means? Is there a problem somewhere with my battery? The voltage is all good, and I have checked all the connections to the BMS - they are all good too - it's showing 53V.

I think you may have answered the question yourself .

It's most likely 'Balancing' that cell. I'd bet if you go around each cell they'll be at a certain voltage bar one :). My Headways naturally linger at 3.34V however, I have two that rest for days at 3.4v when not connected to a BMS. That BMS balances to 3.2V from the link supplied.

When you charge the pack, all the lights will light up eventually to 'Balance' the voltages, it's just doing it's job .
