I'm busy buying some more headways and was offered this BMS: http://www.szsmartec.com/EN/productsview.asp?PID=823

Looks interesting, seems to be configurable between lifepo and li-ion. Not sure if thats via the user or the factory, but it may be a solution you you lipo guys running 24s.

Price my headway supplier quoted was just over $100.

Might be an unusual, interesting design: I see no resistors and no capacitors. I'm guessing that they simply drive the FET in the continuous/analog range and sink the balancing energy into the FET instead of turning a FET on and sinking it into a resistor. The FETs are all connected together thermally by a heatsink, so if only one FET is on it could sink a quite high balancing current without overheating. As more FET's go on, current has to be reduced.

This is of course all speculation from the web page pictures. In practice the BMS might be working in some other way.

That looks familiar...may be available from Bay Area seller, Richmond, CA
Kinda overwhelming array of PCM's cell-boards etc

(I'm in no way affiliated; just ordered some various stuff last night from them to test)
