Hi all,
Has anyone used a x5 in a 20''rim ? Any problems with the straight spokes .

Do you think the 20 will be stronger ? my 26 had a few small cracks after only two years.

That's a hard question to answer. the quality of the rim itself.. how it was laced, how heavy you are and the way you ride all make a difference .

Best suggestion i can make is buy the best double walled rim you can find, have it laced by a good wheel builder ( unless you know how to do it yourself ) and pick your tire carefully.

A skinny tire that bottoms out easily will be murder your rim. wide, high pressure ie: 80 + psi, with thick tubes.. double walled rim with Stainless Steel eyelets, etc.. should hold up well..

Was it a single wall rim ? where did it crack ? did you wipe out ?

It was a double walled rim . I had two broken spokes and the crack was at each of the broken spokes.no accident
