Re: Surron Motor Over temp protection
It is most likely to be a temperature sensor issue, whether it is a real overtemperature problem or not. It might not be in the sensor itself, but could be inside the controller, with a wiring fault, or circuit board problem, or even a faulty input on the MCU chip itself. But something else to consi...

Re: Replacing Controller MOSFETs (Sabvoton72150)
The 441 is unipolar, and the 411 is bipolar. The difference is: https://www.electronics-tutorials.ws/electromagnetism/hall-effect.html Bipolar sensors require a positive magnetic field (south pole) to operate them and a negative field (north pole) to release them. Unipolar sensors require only a sin...

My yuba build has a 5404 I believe, higher end cell man controlle. I have the mount kit minus the geared motors I smoked for the urbancommuter mid drive kit he sold. I do have a small DD motor I thought I may try to replace it with but never tried it. NuVinci hub bike kit still boxed that never mad...

I thought the wires ha, hb, hc have corresponding hall sensors? I tested it using an ebike tester -hb was the one not lighting up Ah. Different equipment uses different markings for various wires. ;) To find out which sensor is HB, trace the wire from the HB wire to the sensor it connects to. If yo...

Check with Grin Tech http://ebikes.ca and see what they can do for you on the TripWire sensors they carry.

Re: Amberwolf's Cloudwalker Cargo Bike
Thanks--I don't really know exactly what I'll need yet. Part of it depends on how the stuff from the Egrom works out, once it gets shipped here and I can work on it, see what fits, what requires rebuild, etc. I suppose if you have anything with "wide" 26" rims (40mm+?), the rim itself...

That's probably why they put the bike lane there: more likely to get rid of the cyclists so they dont' have to make more bike lanes.TrotterBob wrote: ↑Apr 04 2021 9:07amAs a bonus the very next light on that same road used to be the worst intersection in the entire town if not the whole county for vehicle accidents.

Re: Question on Motor Controller Compatibility, and Troubleshooting
However, something that still puzzles me is the throttle issues. The throttle does not work at all when the Grinfeon controller is connected. Could this still be related to the lack of communication with the LCD? Would we have to buy the Cycle Analyst from Grin in order to fix the throttle issues a...

Re: Throttle keeps frying !
One of the throttle that was installed is fried. When I connect it to my bike, the rear wheel turns as soon as I power on the controller (without even touching the throttle). That usually means the ground wire is broken, anywhere between the throttle and the controller. ;) I suspect that you may ha...

Re: Throttle keeps frying !
Do you mean that all of the throttles you have actually work, but that the controller they were connected to simply wasn't powered up? If so...how did you determine that the sensors in the throttles were "fried"? And how did you determine that the controller itself was "ok"? (the...

Results: Separately: The packs yielded 9.6ah and 9.2ah. In Parallel: Packs yielded 17.2ah If everything was perfect, I should have got at least 18.8ah. So difference (1.6ah) is an 8.5% efficiency loss roughly. Yes, you should get the same or better. Noticeably better really only happens when there ...

Re: sound of small knocks when I accelerate
What does "change gear" mean? Are you changing motor settings or controls? Or are you changing gears on the pedal-only drivetrain? Is the motor controlled by a throttle, or do you have to pedal to make the motor spin? If the former, do the sounds occur when not moving any pedal drivetrain ...

Re: Repairing battery pack, mixing a different few cells
Remember your BMS can only do a little bit of balancing at any one moment. You have cells that are more empty than full, and cells that are almost full, and cells that are full. Most typical BMSs will take days to weeks to fix that kind of imbalance, if you leave the pack on the charger full-time. T...

If the magnets are being scraped *only* when higher current is being applied, and not at no-load (like spinning full throttle with wheel off ground), then the magnets may not be glued to the rotor there, so when the motor pulls on them hard enough, they pull away from that spot and are able to scrap...
