Re: E-S LMX 64 Bike Owners

It will be interesting to see how the reduction in torque feels on steep trails. Are we talking a big enough reduction to cause the motor to stall out on steep starts or will it more or less always be able to get you going from a stand still without pedal assistance?

Re: DNM USD 8 vs USD 8s for QULBIX 140r Moto frame?

I come from a motorbike background and thought upside down forks were inherantly better than the alternative as pretty much no performance motorbike designed this century uses them. Then I realised how beefy the WP 48mm front forks on my 500 EXC actually were compared to the DNM USD8 forks. So yeah,...

Re: DNM USD 8 vs USD 8s for QULBIX 140r Moto frame?

What are you planning to change them to? Yes they are very reasonably priced but if they are limiting your trail rides then it might pay to consider other options. Are you using the DNM RCP-2 on the rear? RCP-2S on the rear yes :) No complaints on that, but again I'm no world champion. For the fork...

Re: CA v3 - setting up power modes

This would be my first guess at a setup, assuming my assumption about the max current and max power settings is correct: Input Throttle Mode - Power (W) High: Max Current - 185 A Max Power - 15 kW (won't be reachable when the voltage drops below 81 volts but I rarely ride full throttle anyway and wo...

CA v3 - setting up power modes

Hi! Hope you guys have some wisdom to share on this subject. Long story short I have upgraded my Q140MD (72V 30Ah, QS205 motor, Kelly KLS7230S) with a new wiring harness which routes the throttle through the Cycle Analyst display, and gives me a lot more options. I have set it up with Current Contro...

Re: Qulbix Q140MD - any experience?

Wrong thread Shatul ;) As for the Q140MD - I finally got around to mounting the updated wiring harness and cycle analyst setup from Qulbix. The throttle is now routed though the display, and you have a 3 position mode switch, which means everything is programmed and controlled by the cycle analyst r...

Some details and sweet pictures about the new LMX 64T/64H ultimate editions : preorder.lmxbikes.com That looks brilliant, just the spec I would have ordered! Re: DNM USD 8 vs USD 8s for QULBIX 140r Moto frame?

The DNM USD forks are fine for firetrails (gravel roads of good quality), and fine for street. Anything like a rocky road, or proper trail riding and they are pretty bad to be honest. Very sharp response over small bumps, little feel. I would avoid them if you can afford something better. I've been ...

Re: E-S LMX 64 Bike Owners

There are more and more articles popping up calling out illegal e-bikes here, and I'm sure that is the case elsewhere too. Would it be possible to set up a key system for the bike where you can set it in legal-mode, locking out all illegal power modes, and then in power mode? That way I could have t...

Re: E-S LMX 64 Bike Owners

Thanks, 50 km per battery is roughly what my friend is getting from his Bosch e-bike so that should do nicely! Re: E-S LMX 64 Bike Owners

I have the latest controller for the LMX. I find it better than my fathers Turbo levo. The torque sensing is very smooth. The only time it is a little jerky is if you are doing a track stand and not moving the pedals. This can be controlled for if you keep enough torque on the pedals. Other wise ev...

Re: E-S LMX 64 Bike Owners

So, quick question. Has anyone here ridden both a newer (3rd or 4th gen) Bosch powered e-bike, and the LMX 64h with the new controller? If so, can you comment on how natural the LMX feels in its lower power assist modes? EMTB mode on the Bosch is incredibly intuitive to ride even for someone like me...

Re: E-S LMX 64 Bike Owners

Venom uses regen instead of dual freewheel.. similar yes, same no;) .. Actually it does have dual freewheels. https://www.sem-e-mtbike.com/evolution/ The bike doesn't have a PAS & is ridden like a m/c by throttle that you can supplement with vestigial pedals to enhance the bicycle illusion. I i...

Re: E-S LMX 64 Bike Owners

The torque sensing and pedal assist is amazing, I prefer it over my dad's turbo levo. I find it really is that good. Instantly on and instantly off. That sounds very promising! I am sure I will miss the power from the Q140MD, but the light weight and smooth pedal assist will make for a different an...

Re: E-S LMX 64 Bike Owners

2kwh sounds very cool, my plan is just to get an extra 850Wh battery to attach underneath the frame for the really long trips. Has anyone here got the new controller setup on their bikes? One important criteria for me is the "feel" of the pedal assist. Normal e-bikes (or at least the Bosch...

Re: E-S LMX 64 Bike Owners

What I like about the LMX compared to the Flyon is what happens after the 2 year warranty. That is actually a very good point, both about the ease of tinkering and the lack of wear on the "bicycle" side of the drive train. The TQ120 motor is sure to wear out chains and sprockets like nobo...

Re: E-S LMX 64 Bike Owners

I think I've pretty much concluded the same thing, the LMX is just what I'm looking for. A tiny bit concerned about the warranty and reliability, but the LMX guys seem committed to customer service and making a good product 👍 Will just order a spare belt and gears just to avoid being stranded

Re: E-S LMX 64 Bike Owners

Thanks :D Currently figuring out what to do with my two wheeled collection. Sold my KTM 690 Enduro, seems that e-bikes have ruined me and I now find petrol bikes crude and loud :P So I will be keeping my Qulbix Q140MD as a light-motorbike for hooning around on my field, and either get an LMX64 or a ...

Re: E-S LMX 64 Bike Owners

The change in the sound levels with that belt is amazing! I had initially decided against this bike due to the high pitched noise from the chain, but now it suddenly becomes an interesting option for something closer to a regular ped-elec in look and feel than my Qulbix which I'm currently running w...

Re: Qulbix Q140MD - any experience?

Nice writeup C158 :) Have to agree on the attention side of things, but amazingly I've not had any negative attention so far! It helps to not ride like an idiot, but Norwegians are notoriously negative towards any motorised vehicles off road, even street legal e-bikes are getting some negative press...

Re: Qulbix Q140MD - any experience?

@benjamin - I see you removed the pedals and overdrive kit. How did you like the overdrive kit? That was my least favourite part of the bike to be honest. It works as advertised, you can pedal at a sensible cadence at higher speeds, but it didn't suite me at all. At lower speeds I would have loved ...
