Re: increasing pedal range by eating healthy food-p11, Testing new plan to control diabetes without drugs pg 15

The vegans have been full of shit since forever. The diet works for a very small percentage of people who try it. The science they use to support their diet is flimsy as shit, usually observational/epidemiological studies that use self reported food intake questionnaires . You can't even call t...

Re: increasing pedal range by eating healthy food-p11, Testing new plan to control diabetes without drugs pg 15

This meal timing and precise measuring business is what I was doing once my insulin resistance started getting really bad and type 2 diabetes started to dole out serious damage. But I got exponentially bad during the last year. I am a complete blood sugar rollercoaster on as little as 100g of carbs ...

Much better for that to happen than it be too strong and for the seat post to come with it..
Maybe next time give it another point of support if you can?

My least favorite way to mount a battery to a bike for sure..

You're a free man when they're not looking and/or you're pedaling while going well beyond what's legal and your bike doesn't look like an enduro fridge on wheels. Ride fast yet responsible and appear to be a rule follower you it's amazing how little trouble you'll have. Use me and other high power b...

Hopefully 25 hours is enough time to isolate the problem..
..unfortunately a weak cell group could be the culprit too :/

Hopefully it's not the hard problem!!

Re: Cured my wife's anxiety and my depression with nutritional supplements.

Unless your wife's anxiety and depression were the result of malnutrition you certainly did not cure them with nutritional supplements. This is a joke and frankly an insult to mental illness. I don't know what to say other than chuckle a bit. I hope you do not suffer of lifelong mental illness as i...

Oh wow, sorry for the late response on this, but i am 1000000% on board with circadian rhythm management. Sleep is a critical piece of the mental health puzzle. I practice it myself and use a f.lux type functionality on my newer android phone. Just wanted to throw an update out there. I ditched my d...

Congrats! I can only think of mounting it on the handlebars as a giant reticle, or mounting it on the rear to hold a rocket motor. An air tank for a locomotive horn is also acceptable. The full circle piece on the right might make a swell chain ring guard. That could work. I think my heel mig...

Re: Thoughts on cargo bikes

I agree on the reliability of a DD. I want something I know will just work, especially if I plan on long trips. I was considering buying the juiced cargo bike and swapping in a more powerful motor. Hopefully I can find something in the 1000W-1500W level in a 20" wheel. Of course I may need to bump ...

Re: Thoughts on cargo bikes

A really capable car replacement is going to need a direct drive motor or something else that's simple and durable. It also needs enough power; more than what is available in the white market

So you're going to need to build your own.

What kind of battery are you rockin"? i am always skeptical of BMSes for the reasons you highlighted. Yet, a cell group could be draining on it's own because it's gone funky. It can be hard to tell.. The most telling would be a measure of voltage of each group at ~10% SOC after the pack has been dis...

Re: Why not comfort bikes?

I would go with suspension is not as needed depending on the rider and ability to navigate around potholes and ability to stand and flex both knees and elbows over potholes. The faster you go, the harder it is to play 'human suspension' and 'pothole/uneven surface watcher'. This really takes a lot ...

Re: Why not comfort bikes?

Small diameter wheels have serious trade-offs in ride quality, traction, and safety that mechanical suspension can't compensate for. Being able to stand up on the pedals is one of the characteristics that makes a bicycle feasible on real world surfaces. Engineers at almost every major motorcycle co...

Re: Why not comfort bikes?

I ride semi recumbents these days after starting out on MTB frames. I can't go back. They're both more efficient because of the aerodynamic advantage, and dramatically more comfortable. Add a motor on, and you've negated the disadvantage in riding one uphill. I don't understand why uprights are stil...

Re: increasing pedal range by eating healthy food-p11, Tests confirm extra carbs didn't spike fasting glucose

Not making enough insulin is an interesting problem to have. Type 2 diabetics and metabolically deranged people like me make too much insulin because the body goes numb to it's signal. Your body is not making enough but you are using the shit out of it. So that's weird. One would normally call that ...
