Re: "Mini Monster" 72V 120A 8Ah in a tiny package

Im building this pack to run in two ways; through a 50A BMS, and full wide open 120A, bypassing the BMS and running like the large RC packs favored by high power users on a budget. ? Have you tested them ? What is their rating ?..20C, ?40C ? Even if these are the 65C rated packs, and they can actual...

Re: How Will Electric Vehicles Be Modified in the Future?

No, Tesla Mod S battery packs are not all the same. You cannot have the “performance” options on a “standard” car because it has a smaller pack capacity. That LR pack upgrade costs money ($14 k) and another $16 k if you want them to include the ability to use that added “Performance” mode. Then the...

Re: How Will Electric Vehicles Be Modified in the Future?

Because most people don't buy performance cars. Because they cost a lot more more money! And this is what I'm saying. It shouldn't cost that much more to have a Ludicrious mode. If it doesn't today, it won't in the future. Tesla has established this as a fact. Other manufacturers will undoubtedly f...

Its just an electric “Pedicab” with a dead weight load, and will suffer the same issues....slow, limited range, load limited, and still get stuck in traffic (if operated legally).

Re: How Will Electric Vehicles Be Modified in the Future?

Think about it. If you released a remap of a Tesla that was somehow better they would send the remap to every single owner the minute you released it. You don't have proprietary control over their software. (well maybe not the minute. someone would get a memo and then a team of engineers would go o...

Re: Wind and Solar vs Coal, Gasoline, Nuclear

The small fluctuations in the 50/60hz background hum of the grid is so unique over a small period of time it can be used in a court of law to prove time and date of indoor recordings, current tech renders this old school method quite useless but it's still something that can be replicated most indo...

Re: How Will Electric Vehicles Be Modified in the Future?

You think so? I don't think you'll see very many new owners doing it. After the warranty period maybe. Even then, I think a lot of people would rather leave it be and then the manufacturer is liable. Why not, ?....there are plenty of examples of buyers of Merc’s, BMW’s, Porsche’s , even Rolls, Bent...

Re: Wind and Solar vs Coal, Gasoline, Nuclear

This is painful. Yes, 400MW of gas plant plus the wind farm = 850+ MWh[SIC] of generation. Either going offline on its own likely wouldn't have caused a blackout. Both going offline within a short space of time tipped the grid over the edge. The gas plant went offline first, followed "some minutes"...

Approximate timings were given to the media by National Grid. I said exact timings were known, but I didn't say by ME. Re: Wind and Solar vs Coal, Gasoline, Nuclear

And, the pricing of the battery / MWh shows the "price adder" for going from a 100MW/ 400MWh battery, to a 150MW/ 600MWh battery is exactly 50% higher. So the battery pricing is just a capacity price and has nothing to do with the sale of the electricity from the battery. As in "buy low, sell high"...
