Re: New Dual Motor 10S VESC Build

Looks great! How is the power / speed with those banggood motors? That is a good price. Where did you get the enclosure manufactured? Cheers. Hi, Thanks very much for your comment! I haven't ridden the board an awful lot yet (maybe around 8 cycles of the battery) but they seem to have plenty of pow...

New Dual Motor 10S VESC Build

Hello All, Quite a while ago now I made an electric skateboard. If you're interested in that one here is a link to the intructable I made on it a while ago https://www.instructables.com/id/DIY-Electric-Skateboard-1/ Since then the diy electric skateboard industry has moved on a lot with many compani...

Re: Will these parts zoom, crawl, or go bang!

I would go with the 3mm grub screw, at first I ordered an m2 and its quite easy to bend a hex key that size, you can get a bit more purchase on the m3 grub screw

Re: Will these parts zoom, crawl, or go bang!

Hello, welcome to the forum, My advice would be that if you are new to this to stick with the most commonly used parts on the forum as this is what people have experience with. I think that motor could work, high torque is good yes but I'd be surprised if anyone on here has used one for an electric ...

Re: Need some input....

I would think twice about the APS ESCs. http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=67998&p=1024965&hilit=alien#p1024965. I have a box of about 20-30 of these and they are all garbage. If you've been around for a while everyone knows these aren't that reliable.
Really? ...

Re: Need some input....

Those motors are great, they should be sufficient. I can recommend you have a look at alienpowersystem and aliendrivesystems. They are great if you are unsure on some parts. Both guys are very helpful and I found the esc and motor mounts I got from there to be very good quality :)

I had a similar problem, as torqueboards says though the only ways to fix that are getting a new board or risers. Maybe you could try adjusting the angle of the trucks a bit too?

Re: My diy electric longboard so far, parts list sk3 213kv

Thanks a lot! Yeah that is a down side. However I would say the cooling is an important thing and I didn't mind cleaning the thing every so often. However if you can get away with limited cooling I will probably do that next time...

Re: Electric longboard A Level project

Good work! I do like the color scheme. That bracket looks good but I think having it hollowed out like that will mean that it is not as strong as it could be. It should be ok though. Are you just using the existing e-scooter throttle then as well?

Well that is certainly a problem. Have you considered a Bluetooth set-up like the wii-nunchuck ones? I think this will be less likely to be affected by interference.

Hello, welcome to the forum. aliendrivesyetems does have a series of instructional videos on how to mount the motors to the trucks, here is a link to this. https://www.aliendrivesystems.com/precision-caliber-bracket-fitting.html. Re: Minimal Parts for Electric Longboard

Yes their build is an example of something that just gets the job done. Looking at the board it's probably a $30 motor, $25 ESC and $30 for the LiPo. Looks like he made the controller himself but you can get one for about $20 now. Depending on the gear ratio I would say you ould hit about 15mph on t...

Re: eZip e-400 with LiFePO4?

Hello,
I haven't used them personally but it is definitely something I may do with my next build. If you are looking for a plug and play solution, I would probably just go on hobbyking and match one of their esc's with a few LiFePo packs and then the motor. This may be the easiest option I think.
