Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

I still have a few questions: 1) David from eco-ebike has suggested that the field weakening and a high cadence can generate heat faster with the OSF. Does anyone here see any logic to that and are there specific parameters I should be looking out for when riding to avoid this? IE, keep cadance bel...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Something's not right with your unit.

Can you flash the factory firmware back onto it? Or purchase a factory controller with the the stock firmware and test it.

Re: TSDZ2 48v 2020 new firmware

psw has the old controllers. at enerprof the new versions. I collected donations in a German pedelec forum and have now been able to send a new controller to Cashino. I am currently collecting. the amount for a 2nd controller would be together. We may get support from enerprof and with additional d...

Re: Converting a Kona UTE to peddle assist

I have a UTE that I've installed a TSD2Z onto it and I really like it. We are in a hilly area and I take my two kids (4 and 6) on it everywhere. I've run it up steep hills with myself, two kids, a trailer, two kids run bikes, and my own mountain bike and not had issues. You'll want to ensure you hav...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Here is the info on torque sensor calibration. https://github.com/OpenSourceEBike/TSDZ2_wiki/wiki/How-to-calibrate-the-torque-sensor This should allow you to adjust and compensate for your custom implementation of the TSDZ2. If your new set up is only reading left pedal input and not right side you ...

Re: DIY Toroidal Axial Flux PM

Thanks for sharing your builds here. I have been looking at axial style motors for a ebike build that's churring away in my head and this is all amazing info. A questions regarding size/weight to power. The motor I want needs to put out about 300w nominal and I'd like to pair it with a cycloidal dri...

My suggestion is ditch the Cameleon frame and find something that the motor fits on better.

Re: APL's V4 Cruiser Build.

That is an interesting looking set up with the cranks out front of the motor.

Glad to see some brazing, I have brazed 8 mountain bikes for myself and doing the research now on a custom mid drive that I will braze the frame for.

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Just took a closer look at the torque sensor on one of the axles I had from destroying the transfer ring and it's occurred to me that the torque sensor itself is just a hall effect sensor reading the movement of the two little magnets. Am I correct here?

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

Need to figure out the torque sensor as I would like to run modern cranks instead of square taper, but could live with them short term to get it running. Far better to get a small adaptor machined up from the square taper to the say the Shimano round where you can buy all sorts of length cranks and...

Does anyone happen to have a CAD file for the unit? I am inspired to get a second one and hack it into something more like the Rocky Mountain Dyname 3.0 system..... You will need a freewheel on the chainring, so if your ISIS cranks have this you'll be able to use them.

Sorry I might have missed it and it has been posted but I can't find the info.

Will this allow the Garmin app to control the assist level?

This is an interesting unit. Hmm do I fix my TSD2Z that I've had for several years now...or get a new drive and build a new frame. Has their been any pictures of the internals posted? Have you seen the TSDZ2 thread here on E-S?: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=79788&s...
