Re: Tire failure modes.

I rode with a flat 19"x3 knobby motorcycle tire and really did not notice a big difference. The tire is a normal dirtbike knobby tire, very stiff, very heavy. I will look into 22" bmx rim with 18" moped tire, but I wouldnt want to go much smaller then 24" bicycle wheel size. Goin...

Re: 2x 1000 watt hub on lead acid

I literally just read up on this. The Odyssey battery is a great alternative to the Optima batteries. I did read that Sears has a similar product, but since Sears is gone in Canada I did not read the 2009 post in Pirate4x4 forum. I noted the Optima batteries are $240cdn (www.4wheelparts.ca, Costco r...

Well I have it all now first of all lol, But back up motor in case of failure because I towe a 300lb trailer full of bicycle parts/tools I don’t want to get stuck with. And second motor for help up 6-8% grades to be able to go closer to 20kph rather than 10. 6-8% slopes continuosly for kilometers o...

Re: Dual Motor install, Pas/throttle only moves 1 motor?

More motors = more that can potentially go wrong. Always better to go one bigger motor then two smaller motors, unless you want traction in slippery conditions like mud, snow and sand.

Why did you want to dual motor setup?

Re: Bafang G310 geared hub - 11:1 reduction ratio!!!

Someone trusts the structural integrity of cheap chinese carbon frames, forks, and bars, because if one goes cheap carbon frame, one goes cheap carbon fork and cheap carbon bars. Almost all the parts have trickled in so i am about to embark on my g310 build. Looking forward to it In an odd twist of ...

Its just another thing for Curtis to buy and wait for. In reality its two or 3 things he needs to buy and wait for. A Lipo battery if he doesnt have one already, thats sufficient for the job and buy the spot welder. Then does he go with the pathetic wires and probes that come with the spot welder or...

They need to be cooled down by waiting between spot welds, or adding cooling like aluminum heat sinks and fans. The stock windings on my microwave oven transformer are much darker now and I damaged the control board. If those cheap $10-$20 welders work even if you can only do a spot weld a minute, t...

Re: Super fast charge

Better to have way more battery then you need, to increase the safe C-rating for charging. Downside to that is the battery gets bigger, and heavier, and harder to place. If you need 1kwh battery (48V 20Ah) and you have a 8A charger then get a 48V 35Ah and get a 15A charger.

Re: new eZip motor

I can not charge without a BMS if the charger wont do 2.8V per cell charging.
Most lipo chargers can not do a set per cell charge, there might be one out there somewhere.
I wanted to do a 4.15V/cell but couldnt find any at the time I was looking.

Re: new eZip motor

Now I just need to find the BMSs. I doubt I can even charge them without a BMS with a LiPo charger. You do not need a bms to balance charge. Just need the main positive and main negative and you need the balance leads to each section of the battery with the proper connector to your lipo charger. Yo...

Re: new eZip motor

It seems like LC's goals might not be clear.
Was that 8 ebikes LC has and how many different voltages.
Seems like LC wants Lego batteries like Lipo that you can plug and play to whatever voltage you want, but instead of lego lipo, its lego li-ion/lto.

Then you need to either sell the current controller you already have and buy a controller with a temperature sensor, or convert the controller you have. I dont keep up on Sabvoton controllers, but you sure you can convert a non temp sens cont to a temp sens? If that be the case, then someone needs t...
