Re: Upgrade Flipsky 75100?
You would have to recompile the firmware below with increased current limits How to update firmware on the Flipsky 75100 FOC ESC https://forum.esk8.news/t/how-to-update-firmware-on-the-flipsky-75100-foc-esc/61819 Ahh thanks alot! Any recommendation for the best mosfets out there that fit the 75100?...

Paralleling packs with a protection diode?
Is there a simple way for protecting the parallel procedure of two identical packs that are paralleled while at different SOC voltage? I know that some lead acid guys do something with diodes for that and didn't really understand how a diode would help. I want to prevent or slow down the charging of...

Their website is a bit strange- try a different browser? Specs at https://www.speedict.com/tech-specs For the 20s- Max. Discharge Current 250 A (Rated) 280 A (Peak) There’s a thread here by the owner of speedict https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=73354&hilit=Speedict&...

Re: Looking for a 140A BMS within certain measurements
Wow, looked all over google and also their official website and zero information about bms specs, nada, just blubbering about ground breaking ideas (which are just common features of any bms) and price their tiny (can't be high current) 20S at 188usd

Looking for a 140A BMS within certain measurements
Am looking for a BMS that can output 140A (peaks, for an ebike) that doesn't exceed 130x135mm (thickness doesn't matter).
Have looked all over

What do you guys think of this one? https://www.digikey.co.il/en/products/detail/techspray/1978-1/7914539 Thats the datasheet: https://www.techspray.com/content/msds/TS-1978_ENG_TDS.pdf It's non silicone and industrial looking which seems better to me than fake ratings of over colorful tubes with st...

Re: Thermal compound W/mk rating BS
Been mentioned once already, but here is a link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Glfak2B9J5U Might also be good to look at the other side of the problem too. Why are you pumping so much waste heat into the air? Possibly better components, mosfets, etc would be more efficient and could get by with n...

Re: Thermal compound W/mk rating BS
Beware many of the ultra high thermal conductivity pastes these days are liquid metal alloys that may not be suitable for what you're doing. The "tech ingredients" youtube guy makes and sells some surprisingly good paste now. Im using it for mounting an alloy heatsink to an alloy plate. W...

Lost my 20S Anti-Spark eBay link
Hey guys,
I've had this link for a listing on ebay that was selling 20S antispark switches...
They had many types for high current and high voltage switches.
Any idea how to find it?

Orion BMS contactor max trigger current?
I have an Orion BMS, went through it's manual a few times and they mention nothing about max driving current for the contactors.
Does anyone have any idea?
My contactor requires 500mA
I have sent them an email and they don't reply

Re: Thermal compound W/mk rating BS
Good thinking, thanks alot! Just went through mouser and digikey... One brand that is showing in both called Chipquik has a rating of 79W which I call total BS, then they have a syringe with 8.5W, then another can with 4.3W (which they claim is ultra conductive)... Another brand that looks legit (ju...

Thermal compound W/mk rating BS
Am looking for a good thermal paste with high conductivity for my heatsinks in order to replace my chinese one that is rated as 1.8W/Mk. Re: Phase current limits speed?
So as I thought, it ain't just a voltage number going in the motor but pulses (PWM) which makes much more sense than having a low voltage with low RPM when the current at the phases is higher than the current coming out of the battery. What makes a motor turn (provides torque) is current. When a mo...

Phase current limits speed?
Two scenarios: 1. 60V 70A battery current 70A phase current 2. 60V 70A battery current 100A phase current Assuming that I'm cruising at top speed meaning 60V*70A=4200W Now my problem is with example #2 where the phase current is higher than the battery current. The total power going from the control...

I just checked them out and they seem like some ancient tech compared to today's stuff. I don't see any software or clear examples of how it works, features etc... High voltage bms anyone?
I worked with Orion before and am trying to get their 180S version for an urgent project but the shortest lead time I received is 10-12 weeks! So the urgency lead me to start looking again and found one that was too tall (can't be taller than 80mm) and they have a lead time of 26-30 weeks(!) due to ...

Re: Max charge current to have balance on?
Aha, chinglish strikes again. Nitpick, best not to use "speed" for amps, current rate. As to the original question, just rely on "start balance voltage" that particular setting does not really make sense unless you had explicit control over the charge rate, so a "normal cyc...

Re: Max charge current to have balance on?
My point is that just because the user interface lets you input 50A does not magically mean that the balancing (resistance-burning type) current rate can go that high. I would be very surprised if the actual rate can be higher than one amp. That setting doesn't mean balance speed, it means max char...

Re: Max charge current to have balance on?
My question is, why is it bad to have balance on when charging at say 20A? Why wouldn't it balance at any charge speed? Here's the Reality ... If you've got even just one weak/poor cell in just one of your parallel groups even using a 5A active equalizer balancer board before bulk charging ... Lots...

I know people who bought an android especially for the ant bms  Yes, im one of them. First I bought a $70 android and it wouldn’t install any of the newer apps with the 6 password slots. Then i went back and traded it $200 android phones just to use a $70 BMS. If your phone scrolls the state p...
