Hi crossbreak,
I was wondering if you could maybe shed some more light on that programmer for the Smart BMS ? Do i need to buy there "proprietary" programmer or can i just use a generic one ?
Nice Build

Jazzman

Thankyou Damian,
Definitely liking that capacity meter for the price
I'll have to look into getting hand held probes for spot-welding and make sure to dial the current in first

Re: For ES not facebook group users (DIY 48V pack)
Hi Damian, I'm also waiting on some LG cells from Tumich and have a few questions with your build: Where did you get / build the capacity meter ? Where did you get the shrink tubing from ? What kinds of problems did you run into when spot-welding etc. ? Any chance also of a closeup of how you routed...

Re: HELP FINDING SUITABLE BMS (BBS02)
Hmmm actually i think it's a Li-po battery pack instead of a li-ion... (Built-in 63.5-watt-hour lithium-polymer battery) Ok not getting a circuit breaker free's up some $$ so i'm looking at a 16s BMS. Space is going to be tight though on this http://cdn.mos.bikeradar.imdserve.com/images/bikes-and-ge...

Re: HELP FINDING SUITABLE BMS (BBS02)
"sigh" i know your pain... so many people complain when their battery dies after 3 months :( I've always tried disconnect my laptop (macbook) once it's charged :P (so it rarely sits at its' max voltage) I'm pushing about 930cycles ATM on Li-ion :) but sadly it's down too 74% of it's origin...

Re: HELP FINDING SUITABLE BMS (BBS02)
Thankyou Dnmun,
I will keep that in mind... most likely i will cycle the pack everyday ( to uni and back
).
Hmm to make things more simplistic lets omit charging to 4.05v per cell and instead charge to 4.2v per cell.

HELP FINDING SUITABLE BMS (BBS02)
Hi Guys, I need some help finding a suitable 13-14s BMS with a 20a continuos and a 30a peak discharge (for a BBS02 kit with a LG Li-ion battery) and around a 5a charge rating. I would preferable like to be able to only charge each cell to 4.05v to extend the life of the pack . Budget is up to $50 Au...
