72 Volt Controller Wire Connectors?

How did you handle the problem of connecting the wires from your 72 V controller to your hub motors?

What are the tiny plug in connectors called and where did you buy them?

Did you buy male and female connectors and solder them?

Re: At 48V what controller, etc for 96?

Well volts can help an amp/ hour meter is better. To see how much you have taken out of the battery. Sorry about that sentence almost any throttle will work . For 11 bucks we can get a throttle, voltmeter, and o/off switch. Sweet! It appears that on the left handlebar the throttle rotation may be c...

Re: At 48V what controller, etc for 96?

The first one is the one the second one has a battery meter meant for SLA crap. Or too much junk. The first one is the one. Any basic throttle won't work there's no such thing as a 99 volt throttle. The 99 refers to the maximum Voltage that it can measure. A nice battery monitoring feature to have ...

Re: At 48V what controller, etc for 96?

The lower ratios of full speed give better throttle resolution and actual hard limits if wanted. Whether 100% equals 120%, or 398285%, or pi or whatever  Mine keeps me from 'transporting' thru trees and whatnot when I'm a little too jumpy on throttle with 6/7kw mid geared for 40mph. Li-PO no balancing, 48 V Electric Bike 4,000 mile experience

The Hobby King 6s 5,200's are treated very well and they have lasted a long time without balancing, Slowly charge them with a Constant Voltage charger to just under 4.0 V and discharge to 3.8 V and everything is fine!

Re: At 48V what controller, etc for 96?

The switch is just a 3 position on/off/on. It's dealing with 5v and milliamps for the controller. Speed 2 is open (off), and speed 1 & 3 are closing their respective sets of two of the three wires total. 1 & 3 are closing their respective sets of two of the three wires total What does that ...

That one looked to me like he had a smaller battery in a bag on the frame, taped on, or something like that. Mechanical damage short would be the assumption here I think. Mechanical short seems to be how to make it blow on you mid ride. Shrapnel,, hell yes, there was parts of 18650 cans all over my...

At 48V what controller, etc for 96?

My Day 6 bike now has almost 4,000 miles at 48V LiPos without a single balance charge, The four Hobby King 6s 5,200 have been amazing! A parallel set of 48V for 10,400mAhr. From time to time, I would like to go 35-40mph for a short distance. I am happy at 20 mph for 20 miles using PA with the cells ...

My guess is that the plastic from the can would bend and not split.

Re: Fenders made from a trash can.

This is quite brilliant. Plastic trash cans can be found in various wall thicknesses, and many large cans have a curve that could work for tires. Can be found new...or used once you know what you are looking for. Thanks. I wanted to make fenders, and I was constantly on the lookout for "someth...

Re: Danger! Twisting throttle in wrong direction.

No ebrakes? I assumed you were not on the brakes at the time. Looks like you have a full twist throttle, cut that sucker in half and make a half twist. Then you just relax your grip on half your hand, and the throttle snaps to zero. That flying instinct to slam the throttle back towards you will re...

Re: Danger! Twisting throttle in wrong direction.

I find a thumb throttle mounted under the RH bar is safest....push to accellerate, and if you get jerked backwards..it cuts power. It also leaves all your fingers free for brakes or just a firmer bar grip without having to keep your wrist steady on a twist grip. I use this setup too its by far the ...

Re: Danger! Twisting throttle in wrong direction.

Solved: If I hold the throttle at the end and I need to brake I must let go and move to the left to reach the brake cable pull. Like driving a car with the right foot for gas and brake. If I hold the throttle close in, I get into trouble. (I use left for brake and right for gas in my cars) https://i...
